I still think Kristen owns popular and Idina owns defying gravity, but Cynthia and Ariana killed the ballroom scene. That was absolutely amazing. Also, Fiyero did an amazing change in just a couple of minutes, but you could see the change come over him and why he would therefore help Alphaba with the lion cub afterwards. The whole thing was truly masterful. The going to Oz scene was masterful also. The set was unbelievable, the costumes were out of this world, and the acting was really fine. I agree that there were too many breaks in defying gravity, though. All in all, I was very entertained.

My younger brother who passed away in his 20s was a HUGE Wicked fan. He used to sing Popular ALL THE TIME. A few years after he passed, my ex took me to see Wicked on Broadway and I cried during Popular experiencing what my brother loved so much and then I was carried away by Gravity (pun interned lol) and I was a puddle by the end (pun also intended lmao). Years later my oldest daughter saw it and this weekend the whole family watched the movie the theater and it gave me everything I needed from it and yes, they DEFINITELY landed Gravity and I jumped up and cheered!

I learned about Wicked in 2007 when I and my HS marching band did a show using No One Mourns, Popular, Defying Gravity. I then learned that it was a Broadway play, so I bought the CD and fell in love and then also bought the book, In 2017 I FINALLY got to go to NYC and see the Broadway show and I loved it. 6 months later I brought my father to NYC to see it (My dad died 4 years later and this was the last thing we did together). and 6 months after that I brought my mother who is a MASSIVE Wiz of Oz fan, to see the show and bought her Front row center stage tickets to the show. To me Wicked is my favorite piece of media. When I first went I fond the Living Cogs hoodie for sale and I had worn it daily from the day that I bought it at the Gershwin till about 3 months ago, It has since been thinned out and full of holes in the elbows and pockets. I was able to replace it with a brand new exact copy of the Living Cogs and I will continue to wear this daily until it matches my original. 10/10 movie, best movie I have seen all year. This movie made me sob. The book and the musical has been my companion since childhood. The only thing I know how to play on piano is Over the Rainbow taught by my dad when i was young before he left. Seeing the movie come to fruition hit really deep. I cried more than watching the musical. I was fortunate to have Jessica Vosk as my Elphaba, but Cynthia did not disappoint ❤

At EXACTLY 1:00 in to 'No One Mourns the Wicked' on the movie soundtrack you can hear trumpets blare the tune of "Ding dong the witch is" with the "is" being held out and no "dead," probably because it would have been a copyright issue to go all the way. But that is so totally what Schwartz was talking about, imo.

One easter egg I never see mentioned concerns that mechanical carriage in Glinda's bubble at the beginning. In the later books in Baum's Oz series, Glinda has a flying chariot drawn by storks. ❤
