Evan, so glad to here that your going to finish up your plane. I think in the long run you will be much happier. I understand the hassle to ship the plane to where your moving to. However it sounds like you were going to have to rent a trailer for moving all the shop stuff, so not much of a larger expense to add room for your sling. It will be interesting to see where the main instrument panel lays in conjunction to the sub panels. The way it looks to me is your running out of space for things to fit before running into the control yoke. With some luck you will have most of the fuselage done before you move. By the way when are you packing stuff for the move to Idaho?
@EvanBrunye4 жыл бұрын
Perry Pike the control stick actually needs to be trimmed shorter once the panel is in place, so it’s a little deceptive. The panel is about 4” forward of the front edge of the black throttle plate for reference. I’m packing up end of March to head up!

I’m glad you’re continuing. I learn a lot from your build. You seem to know how to do this stuff. Have you built a kit plane before? Or are you a mechanic or engineer?
@EvanBrunye4 жыл бұрын
Rachel first kit plane build, but I’m a mechanical engineer with a lifetime of experience in similar projects

That makes sense how well and how fast you've built your Sling. I wish I was as good as you. It will probably take me 2 years to finish it.

Hey Evan, if the lock cylinders are all the same, a local locksmith can rekey to one key cut. Will be pretty cheap to have done.
@EvanBrunye4 жыл бұрын
Scott Innis ya I’m going to email TAF to see if they can fix it first but I figure the locksmith will ultimately be what ends up happening

I hope to build a TSI High Wing here in Boise. Keep up the good work and V-Logs.

Ga biou heck ya man! Are you thinking about using it for some backcountry flying? Keep in touch, I’d love to check it out and help with any questions you’ve got.
@AdventureAndy2084 жыл бұрын
Evan Brunye, yes I’d like to get the Sling into Idaho’s backcountry. Interested in seeing what STOL modifications can do to the high wing. Long ways off for me yet. Still have to sell it to the wife and wait for the kit to be released. I’ll absolutely have questions whenever I get underway.
@EvanBrunye4 жыл бұрын
Ga biou I still think a kitfox with a 915 would outperform the high wing tsi but the back seats sets it apart. A bunch more weight will be added when you put bush wheels and suspension, but someone will do it and it’ll work. Just how well is what we’ll soon find out!

Hey Evan! I’ve watched all of your video’s and going through them again in anticipation of building a TSI. Great job!!!! The VP-X power management your using is it the Sport or Pro model? I’m guessing Pro but didn’t want to make assumptions. Thanks!!!
@EvanBrunye3 жыл бұрын
The sport won’t handle the tsi panel, you’ll need the pro For sure

Hey Evan, thanks for sharing all your progress and information. You have a CAD file of your cockpit and electrical stuff. Do you share this file/work? I am building No355 right now and try to to the harness by my self. It would be helpful for me. Best regards
@EvanBrunye2 жыл бұрын
I don’t have a file for the harness, just the panel itself. The remote rack was all just hand cut for this one, kind of just pieced together
@LifeLatitudes2 жыл бұрын
@@EvanBrunye thanks for your quick response. I like your solution with the selfmade rack. Think i ll do it similar. To crimp and build the harness by my self will become a challenge 💪🏻

Do you happen to know where I can find the dimensions of the instrument panel? I would like to model it and mess around with making my own panel layout. Maybe TAF has a step file of it? John - Misty's husband

Man. All your struggles and necessary improvisations and now the key thoughtlessness has pretty much convinced me not to build. At least a sling. They need to get their stuff together.
@EvanBrunye4 жыл бұрын
Pete no way man, these are small hurdles. There are challenges with any kit. My videos show all the hang ups with the process to help other builders, and probably don’t show all the parts that are amazingly simplified with this kit over others because showing easy stuff isn’t interesting!
@mhilderbrand76934 жыл бұрын
On my third home built now... Not a sling. Any kit you get your going to have areas you need to think through. With that being said, the matched holes are a game-changer from the times you had to build jigs for alignment. The good news is you will have resources available from people who have already been there, and can guide you.
