Hi Sling, just an idea. Why don’t combine both high wing and low wing and make a new stagger wing like the Griffon Lionheart? Double the fuel capacity,lift? Put more power engine?

How does the MT prop know when to reduce blade pitch to 5,500rpms? If it doesn’t and you have to do it manually by pulling the throttle back then I would think you’d be climbing at a reduced manifold pressure versus the Airmaster set up?
@tommybarrett1320 Жыл бұрын
It is my understanding from other aircraft with the same engine and propeller combination that when you first pull the power back, the control unit is programed to only reduce RPM's. After a certain RPM reduction, certainly by 5200 RPM or whatever is the minimum RPM for wide open throttle, then the manifold pressure starts being reduced. I think I would rather have the MT propeller with manual propeller control, mainly so I could push the propeller full forward on final approach for the braking effect of the 3 blade prop in fine pitch for a sleek airframe, especially one with low flap extension speeds. I had a friend with an RV-7A and a MT 3 blade propeller and the braking effect on final was significant, and the braking effect on rollout reduced ground roll on landing to less than 500 feet without using the brakes.

Notice what makes it good. It's the composite. So for God's sake, make it all composite already. No titanic rivet nonsense. It's so crude and ugly and form hindering and endlessly time consuming to manufacture. One piece fuselage. Not two sides. One piece. Takes a little special gear but once established can be made very quickly and is easy to certify. And give it white Tesla seats. Not wrinkled black leather with excessive stitching. One piece composite wing too. All carbon fiber. It pays for itself because of the weight advantage. Get it certified. Kit building has no future. It cannot scale. And resist the bs urge to quadruple the price when it's certified. Same price or lower. Then seek big funding from textron or other to take it real big. kill them all. optimization is king.
@DanFrederiksen2 жыл бұрын
tail swept back like a shark. not a huge vertical sail. And thin. CF can be razor thin and still stiff. Look at gliders, look at Sea Avio Risen. Double curved teardrop body in CF is naturally stiff so a shell is enough. Key to making it super light. And a form that lends itself well to eventual pressurization. When you are well funded and big, if douchebag Garmin doesn't want to play ball, make your own avionics. Much bigger screens without the legacy clutter. Computing and displays costs nothing today. It has no business costing 50k$ for a set. Same with Rotax. 915 shouldn't cost 40k. that's a crime. small turbofan jets is the way.
@lemonator88132 жыл бұрын
Teslas seats look and feel terrible though. And the tail is aluminum for a reason. For reinforcement and weight and balance. I'd love to see you make your own faa certified avionics. That'd be dope you should give them to Sling. You probably think things like a HI and a basic 6 pack are too much clutter as well lols.
