Did my mods on the Adder. Took me a whole Sunday in the workshop. A screw on the trigger mechanism broke off and I had to drill it out (took 4hrs and 3 drillbits, none of which ended in my hand though 😋) Recommend to all who consider modding: when you have the trigger disassembled smooth the edges of the string catch. It is kind of Sharp edged. Your string will thank you. Furthermore I added a washer to the cross bar and some tape to the stock holder insert (whatever the proper name). Now everything is much more sturdy.

I recently built a 48 inch long throwing arm for a home built cross bow where I used two layers of three fiberglass rods per layer. The rods are typically used for marking the edge of driveways after it snows for the purpose of keeping the plow off the lawn. I lightly sanded each orange fiberglass rod. I then laid three for the first layer side by side and temporarily used tape to keep them tight to each other. I then ran super glue down the abutting surfaces. Once the glue set I flipped the layer and glued the seams on this side too. I repeated the process for the second layer. To laminate the layers together I first taped them together. I then every 6 inches tied a loop of perhaps 10 turns of string. However after each winding of string was made I soaked the winding of string with super glue. The end result is a fabulous, but cheap throwing arm. Depending on the power stroke's length you can have different draw strengths. The one I am using is roughly 80 pounds, but it could be increased if desired. I don't know what it could max at but if I guessed I'd say 115. Unless you like safety orange throwing arms its a good idea to paint the arm as I did with a quality spray paint that bonds well to fiberglass. If you want to feel real secure about the layers remaining in alignment I would soak your two tied areas in super glue and of course your string can't be a waxed string but I found any string does well especially after soaked in super glue.

25:43 The hole for the knurled screw on my 7-round magazine was forgotten. Now I have to wait for the replacement magazine. But Gogun is telling me it will arive Thuesday or Wednesday. Glad I have the five round magazine too, but yeah, it's not that easy to fill with the arrows because you always need two hands to hold the lever open and fill in the arrows. And when you don't have a third hand it's pretty difficult to do! Now I hope the rain is stopping so I can get out to shot! 35:00 Yes, I really liked this! 👍 It was quiet informative! This fixed some of my questions i had. Maybe I will convert my Adder into a 180 pound version too! And i will build me a few broad head arrows. Greetings from Frankonia...

@@Lonewolf_rider There is a problem with these instructions, I ordered two of these 90 lb throwing arms to upgrade the strength of my bow for the grizzly in the area. Neither have string stops. I'm in a position where I decide if I should use the limbs or not. I may need to use the bracket from the 130 lb limb and then I won't be able to hot swap. Unless I use the bracket that has no string stop for the 130 lb limb... thoughts? How and where did yours break?

Liking the video. I might make some of my own on the Adder. I'll probably start with an overall review. There are some changes on the Siege which would serve an "Adder 2" model well for people who would like to stick with recurve bows. I'll probably add some more things such as the fact that since the stock doesn't house a recoil spring (like on the AR15) you can pop the back off it (the Adder actually comes with two butt plates for the stock depending on what you prefer; at least from GoGun) but inside the butt plate you've got a hollow cylinder which is perfect for string wax and then two separate cavities in which you can put disassembly tools such as Allen (hex) keys as well as spare red dot batteries. I absolutely love the modularity of the Adder system and think that it could be taken a step further, much like modern rifles where you can remove one part and swap it out for something entirely different. Such as different handgrips. Different stock systems (such as ones with a variable raised cheek rest), different safety systems (one from GoGun which is built to not be a 'safety on cock' system) and a reinforced cocking transport mechanism that allows the user to swap things out for something reinforced, potentially with a heavier draw limb (throwing arm) included. Or even heavier but more durable parts that use more metal rather than polymer so they really take abuse. If I had a job at EK archery one of the things I would do is gift 10 bows to 10 'guntubers' who have some military experience who aren't currently deployed and ask them to stress test them. I think that having the Adder (or Adder Siege) "1.0" as a starting platform and offering changes to it that you can buy with assembly instructions is the future of archery. A few enterprising individuals have already started selling non-EK upgrades for the Cobra and Siege platforms but if EK got on top of this they would be the *first* modular crossbow manufacturer. Long arrow mag designs have been created for these bows. Different loading systems have too. However they aren't sold by EK. If EK & Steambow (for the Fenris) got into that market they'd continue with their pattern of making better bows. If the idea caught on you could potentially even go to GoGun and 'build' (pick out parts) your own Adder or Siege at the checkout. You'd retain the warranty as all parts would be given the okay as they're all first party mods, more people would buy and a modular system makes it more difficult for copycat manufacturers to undercut the design. I feel that making a truly modular system is the future of crossbows. I've modded my old Armex Jaguar to have an underslung picatinny rail. I'll probably look for non-destructive ways to mod my Adder. But if EK started releasing 'tuning kits' that changed things up a little (heavier draw, precision buttstock, stronger levers with less play) I'd buy that.

I absolutely LOVE the Cobra ADDER! in its Version 2 configuration, and the Millions of Hours of R&D that Joerg has spent developing it, to get such a GREAT!! Product to Market, You Are Awesome Joerg!!!. I can see at least two or three areas inside the trigger Block I would Check for possibilities for more Mods. to increase accuracy at a further distance to target. Any Movement in Any gun while shooting/ pulling the Trigger, will pull the Point of Impact off Target, thus throwing off accuracy, 1. Reduce trigger pull weight by changing to a Light trigger spring, I am Not sure how stiff the oem trigger spring is. This may Not be needed. 2. smooth the Sear and Trigger contact points with some Very Fine sandpaper to polish this contact area. 3. add a Adjusting screw behind the trigger arm (this would reduce trigger pull length But I see the the posts for the Safety and Trigger would No longer Line up properly if adjusted, this may be a problem) at the rear of the trigger housing drill and tap for a 4-40 Allen screw so that this is adjustable to your liking to remove the Trigger travel, or trigger pull length, be cautious here as you dont want a Hair trigger just a Less pull length to the point of a Great Trigger release point that is expected. These three things will make a Much more accurate shot of the Cobra Adder, If you have a Long trigger pull length or a Heavy trigger pull weight due to a heavy trigger spring, or a Gritty or rough trigger pull due to a stamped steel edge of the Steel trigger and sear being Rough and Not Polished Smooth, these all can throw Off Accuracy. I Like to check for all these issues on Airguns By doing a trigger Pull test Several dozen times. I make sure the gun is Empty NOT loaded. Dont cock the gun, just pull the trigger several times, maybe latch the trigger, then pull the trigger, DO NOT DRY FIRE, Do NOT Cock The Crossbow!!! and watch what would Happen to what would be the Barrel End or Rail End to see if it Rises and sinks or any MOVEMENT of gun, during several Trigger Pull Tests, if you have to overcome any of the trigger spring weight or trigger pull length, or a rough sear contact, and pulling the trigger makes the X-bow's end, Move up or down during the Trigger Pull that will Throw off the SHOT accuracy. Pulling the Trigger should NOT move the Guns at all and throw off accuracy at all, if it does then the trigger needs work. This is a Job for when the Warranty expires. Movement of gun while pulling the trigger would be much More noticeable when taking free standing shots, while pulling the trigger. I check for this on all my Airguns, as I am after as Much accuracy as possible, and the Best accuracy Possible at the furthest distance to target. Humm what about adding a "Under the Bolt RAIL" of both sides, an attachment that has two alum. Square Tube for light weight, that slides either backward and forward out of the way, to get a cheek weld and a Short shoulder support, leave it forward out of the way pull it back into operation.

Such Innovation, Nothing else even comes close to the Cobra Adder!!! Great additions, I would Love to see a Sniper type Bench Rest Bipod shooting. at 50 yards, 75 yards, and 100 yards with this setup. definitely need a 3-9x40 Mil-Dot scope with Adjustable Objective, for those distances. My thought For a More tactical Version is to use a EXPANDABLE Gun Rest that attaches to the Front Lower Rail, they are used for a Standing Shot the expandable Post goes from the Bottom rail to the ground while standing to support the gun through the shot. Humm maybe a different attachment Point due to the Cocking of the Cobra Adder.

Similarly to what a few others have been asking, I was wondering about any updates on the 150lb throwing arm that was briefly mentioned earlier this year. I do think this would be a much more reliable option for those of us who aren't very experienced in weapon crafting and don't want to shatter the throwing arm and other possible mechanical failures in our xbow.
