Do you plan on showing up to the Portland event would like to meet you. The "double move" helped me get effort distance with the upper body.

Cola - Coach has mentioned a couple of times about "the athlete within" as letting you know when you've achieved your potential - or as letting you know that there's more in there. Is there anything in particular that YOU think you still want to polish up in your own form?

@@DaveSlade-u8d personally just grinding it out and making it smoother, other than just continuing to throw I’m trying to extend my right arm lower and out. But just working out and stretching to increase my distance with this form is my goal right now

Wow, I get to count myself very fortunate that Cola only lives a few hours from me and when I hit him up to play a round he was totally down for it. IT was epic. Three Slingshot students all got together and threw plastic and have fun. I've been trying to do the slingshot move for quite some time now and I really just didn't understand it until I saw COLA do it live. It was so effortless, and whats really cool is when he dosent need to throw 500+ feet cuz the basket is only 300ft.. he STILL does everything the same.. just in slow motion. Then it looks REALLY cool cuz you can really see all the positions your supposed to be in. Not to mention COLA and Michael (the slingshot websight admin) are about the nicest guys to play with and Coach T is really blessed to have them on his team. I can totally agree with Coach in this video, that as good as video training is.. there is no subsitute for seeing it in person. People can throw discs however they want to, Choosing to attempt slingshot style is a choice. I personally picked it because it seemed like what was best for my shoulder/arm.

Thank you Coach T for your training program! It works and will get you there! Not easy at all, but so worth it when you finally figure it out and are able to get in the right positions.

Thank you for mentioning that the speed and effort comes from the end of reach back at the end there. On the days I have it that’s exactly what it is. Just like how teacherman mentions how the snap of the bat is at the back not up front on the swing and unfortunately I’m a right golfer so I have to learn it backwards for disc but I can do it on my golf swing quite easily bc I started when I was 3 but it’s so tough to teach that stretch in disc when I have so many bad habits over last 15 years

Cola looks fantastic. Great coaching by you and great work by him. I believe the "double move" is actually simple: 1. It's a plyometric counter-movement. 2. Your off-arm comes in with your rear leg. If you throw a right cross punch, your right leg does exactly what you want your rear leg to do in the backhand. McBeth and Gibson "punch" with their off arm to help them drive their rear leg in exactly like we do when we throw a right cross.

@@EllaWind00 reread his comment. it's a cool angle you or I haven't thought of before. (you're allowed to examine a sentence for truth without knowing exactly how competent its author is) he's not saying punching the off arm down & in is necessary for max distance. He didn't even prove that it helps. But there's a connection between punching the off arm and throwing a punch in boxing-the corresponding leg does the same thing in either case. That's neat.

I am trying to perfect my own form that no one else will have in the disc golf world. It involves training in front of a mirror naked every day and attempting to do the splits. Once your fully stretched out in splits position you squeeze your glutes as hard as you can until your abdominals start turning your quadriceps towards the direction of the disc hole. Make sure your eyes are closed and place your dominant hand on your left gluteus maximus and get your left foot into dorsiflexion. It’s not easy but its how I was able to throw 600 feet

I just want to point out how you didnt understand because the teachers sucked. Starting a lawnmower isnt front driven because if you are right handed, you plant the left foot and use it to drive power from the ground as your pulling the string. And the right foot is there to brace
