It also shows his level of ingenuity, not worried about giving away some of his ideas because he has plenty to spare. One of my ideas people can have is replacing plastic straw's with a species of bamboo or reedgrass.

and so does charging €10 for that piece of plastic, that's horrendous. i get the €25 for the slingshot because that's the main product but €10 for that bent flat piece is a rip off.

It makes sense to give away the design, because people are going to copy it anyway. If it is a good design, you'll find it all over various forums and trying to take them down requires more effort than it's worth. There is no efficient way to prevent people from sharing the design, and you'll just look petty and mean while trying to do it. Thus you may as well share it yourself, thus making a good impression on people by this act of generosity. It is still profitable to sell them, because it takes some effort to make one yourself, and not everyone who wants one is willing to do that. And nobody can complain that the price is too high, because you can always make your own. All in all, it's a very reasonable business strategy by Jörg.

Jörg! As a responsible dog owner you need to build a proper rubber band powered "throw and catch" tool for your dogs pleasurable exercise experience! It would not only be for the good of the dogs of the world, but also for the dogowners sling shooting needs. It would be a win for all! :)

I have made a half-dozen Rambones, and several Rambinis. The Rambone is classic. I love the look and feel. But I use the Rambini on my daily walks on the trails around here for it's size. Thank you Joerg for putting the plans for both on-line.
@johnanthony60386 жыл бұрын
My Rambini finally arrived, awesome little slingshot and the design works as advertised, no hand slaps. I more or less use it as my primary slingshot now because of the guard feature, it was worth the wait and I highly recommend one. it is tough as nails and easy to carry and use, I think the guard will be even better in the winter when cold hands hurt like hell when you get hit by those bands. fantastic Idea Joerg !!

So, what I want to know is for the original Rambone, does it have the snapback problem for the rubber, and is there a way to put a guard on it as well?
@crominion60456 жыл бұрын
I have two Rambones, the original without the band clips and the newer one with them. I've never had a hand slap from either. If you wanted to, sure, you could find a way to mount a similar style guard. Maybe use a Dremel cutoff wheel to grind a slot in the top shelf between the forks and another one at the bottom of the handle. You could make a guard out of Kydex with a heat gun or hair dryer to shape it.
@regneva176 жыл бұрын
I don't know if you ever answered this kinda question, but which is better, using a strong bandset capable of being drawn to butterfly but only draw it to your mouth, or using a bandset which max draw length is up to your mouth and draw it to the max?

Draw length and draw weight are about equal factors. Max draw weight AND max draw length rule.

Bulky, ugly and superfluous. Only required for badly designed slingshots. The limiting factor is never the wrist except if the fork arms are ridiculously high or the handle is uncomfortable.

@charliebartlett57686 жыл бұрын
Hey Joerg, I have an idea for a future project you could do. It expands on the hand protector idea. The product would be a large shield which could sufficiently block sword hits and possibly arrows. The shield would have a slit in it with an integrated slingshot/ airgun/ crossbow which can be fire through the slit. You would also need some form of metal grate or transparent polymer on the shield so you can see through it and line up your target. The slot should be closable so a lucky arrow can't fly through the shield and hit you and if making a crossbow or airgun version, the weapon system should be foldable so you could potentially use the shield alongside a sword without the projectile launcher getting in the way. :)
@martinmollerup22656 жыл бұрын
Cool idea, challenging for Joerg!
@ChaosBW6 жыл бұрын
Charlie Bartlett you could make this yourself. Just buy a wooden buckler shield without the metal center plate. You would save money buying one without the hand guard insert anyway. Also, medieval bow/xbow users did sometimes carry a big wooden shield to shoot behind, your not so original idea is just making things more complicated.
@charliebartlett57686 жыл бұрын
Yes, I could make it myself, but I'm not going to. This channel has never been based around making the most effective or efficient weaponry. Joerg made a slingshot that applied a condom onto a penis for gods sake. Yes, crossbow users may have shot from behind shield but they never used integrated projectile launchers in their shield, hence my idea is original.
