Thanks so much for making this non ESP/TC, and the other ESP/TC video direct comparisons! I bought a pre-facelift 2001-2003 Rav4 in USA/Canada (square fog lights), because of a fear that the facelift 2003-2005 with round fog lights with the electronic stability control and traction control systems would be worse, especially when it limits your throttle like on most cars. However, your video shows the newer system is better, at least in this scenario. Overall both the non ESP/TC and ESP/TC Rav4 and Subaru are great AWD vehicles, and plough through very difficult conditions. The Rav4 had a factory rear Torsen LSD option which was super rare (which would not activate on rollers probably), but even better there is an aftermarket electronic locking rear-locker available for them (which could easily activate on these rollers).

На Субару в турбовый задний редуктор ставится червячная блокировка из Тольятти, фирмы Вал рейсинг, и с помощью ручника она все испытания проедет. Рекомендую.

It also depends on what options the subaru forester has thay were available with limited slip rear diff, I don't knownif the rav4 was or not

I think I haven't seen any Torsen fwd or RWD (IE Alfa Romeo Q2) vs AWD open Differential, I understand that can be "safer" in more situations a 2wd with self locking differential than a 4wd with open Diff. Am I wrong?

If you mean 4wd with all diffs open then yes, fwd with lsd may be better.

@@luigivm Yes, grip control systems are nothing more than different traction control settings. And actually in some scenarios these can be better than front lsd. Limited slip diff at front can't be too strong cause it would cause massive problems in handling.

Ravka w manualu czy automacie? wygląda jakby centralny miał blokadę/szperę. 1:35 może ręczny? Gdzieś czytałem że można było kupić do RAV4 II tylny mechanizm różnicowy z LSD - na pewno by pomógł

Manual. Centralny dyfer z wiskozą. W teście kierowca próbował użyć zarówno hamulca nożnego, jak i ręcznego, info w odpowiednim momencie pojawia się w lewym dolnym rogu ekranu. Rav4 miała w opcji tylnego torsena.

@@4x4.tests.on.rollers Dzięki - komentarz pisałem na bieżąco w takcie oglądania, później zauważyłem też ręczny. Nie wiedziałem jakie konkretne rozwiązania były stosowane w RAV4 II natomiast kiedyś trafiłem na informację że jest różnica w centalnym między automatem a manualem i że tył mógł mieć ograniczony poślizg. Torsen traktuje jak LSD bo nie jest to blokada 100%.

@@edwardmadry4299 Różnice w zależności od skrzyni były w pierwszej generacji Rav4. W drugiej wszystkie wersje miały ten sam układ awd.

To jak to jest z tym napędem 4x4 w Ravce II generacji? Od pewnego czasu czytam jak na forach użytkowników ludzie się "przepychają" w komentarzach, że napęd jest stały a inni twierdzą, że nie. Możliwe, że niektórzy mają problem z definicją co oznacza stały i nie chodzi o to, że przednia i tylna oś zawsze dostaje moment (jak np w Nivie), ale skoro jest tu sprzęgło wiskotyczne, to w którym ono jest miejscu? Jak to dokładnie działa? Będę wdzięczny za rozwianie wątpliwości :)

Napęd stały, realizowany poprzez centralny mechanizm różnicowy, moment obrotowy stale przekazywany jest poprzez koła zębate. Sprzęgło wiskotyczne znajduje się przy centralnym dyfrze i odpowiada za jego "poślizg", czyli "skleja" się kiedy jedna z osi zaczyna kręcić się szybciej od drugiej.

@@wyprawowy814 Sprzęgło wiskotyczne w dyfrze dąży do wyrównania prędkości obrotowych osi, niezależnie która oś kręci się szybciej, obydwie osie połączone są mechanicznie ze skrzynią. Natomiast samo sprzęgło wiskotyczne (bez dyfra) napędza jedną oś (tę, która nie ma mechanicznego połączenia ze skrzynią), głównie w sytuacji, kiedy oś połączona ze skrzynią zaczyna się ślizgać.

@@4x4.tests.on.rollers I've watched a lot of Roll Off tests on KZbin. Yours is the first I watched where the driver never slowed to a crawl to allow the other wheels to react to the wheel spinning. TFL does a lot of these tests. Best of luck to you.

@@jjmack8233 The problem is that these two cars do not have any electronics, slowing down or crawling doesn't change a thing. Actually it even makes things worse cause center visco diffs need a speed difference.

@@bartosznosal5485 Nope, it is fairly straightforward when you end up in a ditch with two wheels in the air. Has happend to me in a Pajero with failing diff lock. Luckily it is all becoming irrelevant with the advent of electrification when additional motor will be cheaper than diff + driveshafts with cardans. Poor torsen ...
