I have a sort of unpopular opinon: I really like slipknot when their stage setup is simple, mainly focused on lights and pyros. Dont get me wrong, I really like their new stage setup. But this feels right, it feels right seeing the stage seem cramped and all the chaos is in 1 spot

Slipknot is, in my opinion, one of the greatest bands to exist. I mean, just everything about them is amazing. Not just Corey, or Sid, or any single thing. In intimate spaces like Maida Vale the crowd control the BBC have is absolute. Also consider that filming the band if the audience are as rowdy as they can be will make things much more difficult

I’d imagine since this was done by the BBC those who watched the show live had strict guidelines that had to be followed. However like you said, I couldn’t contain my excitement either!

Saw them in 1999 when they opened for Machine Head and Coal Chamber. I was about 6 ft from the cabinets when the lights went dark. As soon as the lights came back on I see this guy in a clown suit going up and down on a hydraulic lift banging on kegs. Needless to say, they out performed Coal Chamber and Machine Head

This must have been cool to witness. I can only imagine how odd it sounded though. The band is right on top of them. You can hear the mix is a little weird sounding, I assume drums are bleeding into other mics lol.
