Most will play this alone in their car or headphones, and dream of seeing it live with others that come together. They really captured the essence of current reality, through good tunes. Style of writing also creates many ways to interpret their tunes. This one here is absolutely fire. Every one of their albums has one or six of these types of tunes, and this is one. I met a person that said he was kinda scared at night when he went to Iowa, knowing slipknot came from there. I was like- what? It music that makes your booty move. Iowa people are as kind as you can get, smart and tough. Taught many virtues that takes energy and time as a community no matter what the barriers are. Good state. Corey Taylor - A song that gathers everyone together. That feeling that you get at a concert, when you’re a part of the group, but you’re also yourself, especially for people like me. The only time I feel connected to a group of other people is when I’m at a show. Any other time, I don’t like being part of a group; I’ve never joined a club or whatever. And even when I’m in an audience, I don’t really have a connection, but some bands bring it out in me, like when I see Iron Maiden or the Misfits. That brings it out, because you’re just so caught up in the motion of it. So, that’s what “Hivemind” is about - people coming together for one beautiful moment, but then they scatter like fucking ‘roaches once the house lights come on!

This is hands down my favorite song they’ve released in the past 5 years. From the insane blast beats on the drums, to the grudgingly disgusting guitar chugs, to Craig absolutely obliterating his shoulder from the impact of him destroying those metal containers with a bat.

I bought my first Slipknot CD a couple months after Self Titled came out in 1999. I saw them live at Ozzfest 2001 in Somerset, WI. As their albums came out I found that I like them more the more I listen to them. I was pleasantly surprised that I was really into The End, So Far during my first go around. I'd rank this album a top 3 for me. I love how you can hear everybody in these songs (especially Sid and Craig). I'm proud to say that I got to take my son and wife to Knotfest Roadshow 2022. I've literally grown up with Slipknot's music and will continue to support them throughout all future albums. Long live the Knot!

It kinda sounds like the main intro riff for Of Mice and Men's "Bones Exposed". It's a variation of Sulfur's outro, just like the main riff from "Orphan" was a variation from "The Heretic Anthem". Even using the word "sordid" is like a callback to the past (from Iowa)...all in all they're pretty cool callbacks to the past.
