I've been listening this band for the past 23 years, growing up with them being my life soundtrack. Finding your channel just made me SO happy, cuz the way you're able to express how deep this songs cut yet being so passionate about how it sounds makes me feel like "Yeah, she unfold a message bigger than what the original piece is", and this is how art works. Analising them through Psychologic pov it's fantastic, I'm just starting my Psychology degree and your videos are a huge inspiration. Keep it going

I think you are nailing it perfectly. Everyone belongs to some kind of hive. It is incumbent upon each of us to continually reevaluate our own hive and follow our own moral compass whether or not the hive is in agreement or not. This could be applied to so many facets of society. Simply blindly following along just for the sake of following along isn't healthy for the individual person. 👍🇺🇸

I'm probably about 5-10 videos in of your sessions. Watched some of the Metallica reviews before Slipknot and have been equally impressed by your assessments of the lyrics that I, in 40+ years, have not tried to fully comprehend. Hindsight, and almost 7 of 24 years in combat and imminent danger environments, enables many to see, or understand, things that we didn't previously. You have a good understanding that I wish I had earlier. Thank you

This song has been speaking to me a lot since it came out. To hear someone get the same message out of Hivemind that I did is awesome. As with many other song reviews. Metal isn’t as negative as the stigma that surrounds it. It’s significantly deeper than it’s given credit for. When this song came out I was questioning my professional and personal goals. This song helped me believe I was on the right path and being at the other side of that dark place I’ve realized the people that I’ve surrounded myself by are the “beehive” not the “sordid hive”. Looking back, it shows. Professionally and personally.

I’d never recommend this to someone and put them through this but Daddy by korn is a good song for a therapist to react to… or at least listen to. It’s about John Davis childhood and the trauma he suffered. It’s a very, very disturbing song to listen to. It brings chills and tears every time knowing it’s his trauma. He’s only performed it live one time, it’s definitely a hard song but so many resonate w it that’s gone through the same pain

4:50 6:21 onwards describes everyone siding with and defending the main person at the centre of my Cptsd and other psychological problems without even trying to look at it from my perspective or listen to my side of it and saying similar things which are almost just as hurtful and just bring back all the pain and memories and keep the trauma alive. Guess I may have more relatability to this song than I thought… maybe that’s why it’s one of my favourites?

From ThriceTheThird: @princessparrots It's never fun to have people around you unwilling/uncapable of grasping/trying to grasp your perspective, and siding with only one side of things. You have every right to feel the way you feel, and deserve to be seen by the people around you. Thanks for sharing your experience and how you relate! Please feel free to share more if you ever want/need. <3
@HeartSupport9 ай бұрын
From Micro: @princessparrots I'm so very sorry that people in your life have sided with someone who hurt you and is at the origin of your complex ptsd. It's heart shattering already when someone supposed to love and protect you happened to hurt you. It takes such a LOT of tears already, a lot of wasted time, and surviving through bad days to come to the point of acknowledging your traumas and naming it. But it adds such a new layer of pain when *other* people, whom you trust, take side in favor of the person who did something wrong. It's like your *finally* get to the point of daring to share your voice for it to only be silenced and reduced to nothing. It makes you question everything all over again, and at the core of it your ability to trust others with yourself. It feels like an ultimate mark of betrayal, as if people in front of you were navigating through a completely different reality, almost like they were part of a different world. While on your end you *know*, every single day, the cost of what this person did and of living with the consequences of it. You are the one who knows, you are the one who has to deal with this pain you never asked for... and they dare to deny it. Just brutal. Dealing myself with complex ptsd, my heart goes out to you so freaking much. Once about a year and half ago, my sister and I confronted our parents to our pain, to the violence we suffered growing up, and their reactions felt like hitting the nail on the coffin. On the positive side, it reinforced my willingness to stay off contact and keep my distances. It reassured this part of my brain that was still feeling loyal to them somehow, that I didn't have to anymore. But on the other hand, it was certainly one of the most devastating interactions we've had all together. It's hard when you are confronted to the fact that people can be in *such* denial that they don't even see you anymore with their own eyes. They fear reality, truth and accountability so much that they prefer to dismiss your pain. Which may or may not be conscious, but the result remains the same: it hurts like hell and feels like absolute betrayal when you are the one who needs support and recognition. If anything, I see you and I hear you today. Your pain is valid, no matter what anyone would say to dismiss that reality. When doing so, what they express are *their* struggles, *their* inability to cope with such brutal reality. But it doesn't say anything about you, about your story, and even less about the validity of how you feel. I hear and understand the subtlety of the pain that resides behind the term "c-ptsd", and even though we don't know each other, you certainly have my full support as you are learning to reclaim your life and as you share your voice. Thank you for doing it here, thank you for making through dark days, thank you for trying and pursuing in living a life that will feel safe and fulfilling for you. You deserve all the best. Hold fast. :heart: -Micro

This all very much ties into my comment on the “the devil in I” reaction video, so while I can understand why they wouldn’t want to believe me and see this totally different side to the person that was kept behind closed doors and was really only shown when no one else was around, it's still very frustrating… so glad I have my friend that has been able to see the truth and is willing to let me vent to her as much as I need. a hive mind isn't only about conformity that is but one kind of hive mind, i hive mind can also be a collective intelligence, any time you have multiple people sharing their opinions and knowledge you also have a hive mind. the type of hive mind that she's talking about is the worst kind of hive mind for the individual, or for the world outside the hive, and is inherently fascistic, divisive and destructive as it will alienate or destroy anything that does not conform or is not like them... though she is right most people function in this kind of hive mind for a sense of community (religious affiliation, political tribalism, social cliques etc) despites its toxicity to the individual or the wider world. whereas i do not fit into the traditional hive mind social structure, i fall into intellectual hive mind, where the exchange or passing down of information is paramount and conformity is both irrelevant and an undesirable trait.

Imo, the early era of Slipknot, encompassing albums like Iowa, Slipknot, Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat, and perhaps All Hope Is Gone, captures the essence that defined the band. While it's understandable that artists evolve and seek reinvention, Slipknot's initial raw energy and intensity were integral to their appeal. Their later work is not to be missed.

I like the song itself, but the music video is just weird. For the last couple of years Shawn (The Clown) is the one who's directing the music videos, and I swear there's always some damn cult of women dressed in either colourful plastic or weird ass cloths wearing masks and cutting some poor soul up. Shawn has this "I am an artist and this is my art" mindset which can get out of hand at times, given his ego. Good reaction video, though

Yeah, this music video seems a bit much. But, I think the point of the video is to be kinda disgusted by it, because if you enjoy the content of it, then you're proving the point of the song and showing yourself as part of the hive mind that is ok with the suffering. So, it's calling out it's own audience. Just a thought.
