Hey brother, I just watched your video of you telling your story. Your drumming style and technique by far the best I've ever seen, but hearing your story really hit home with me. I am a drummer as well, and I also suffer from depression. I am currently dealing with 2 injuries that could possibly keep me from playing for the rest of my life, so that adds to my depression. But watching your videos and hearing your story inspires me to keep pushing myself to do better and improve everyday, regardless of what the future hold in store for me. I'm just your average Joe here but I wanted to thank you for sharing the but that you did. I can understand that depression too.. I've been dealing with that a lot lately and a few years ago I had a random injury that caused me from being a very strong and in great shape man to a very weak and depressed person. I love feeling strong and practicing MMA but I can no longer do that anymore... Just never hang your head low my brother. @@FlyboyHelosimare the tracks simplified? Sure. Losing certain ghost notes and softer hits on the various parts of a huge kit does change how it impacts and sounds. But i think there is value in stripping down a drum line to let the rest of the song breathe. There’s a reason people praise even terrible drummers like Lars Ulrich, because the emphasis should always be on the songwriting over everything else.

It’s really hard to hear if he’s solidly connecting on his drum heads. The accompanying track is so loud and you hear the original drummer there, which masks his playing. Would love to hear this guy play without music. One handed. While listening to slipknot in his own headphones. That would be a better test.
