@@sebihe666 Jay is a percussionist. The drums are a percussion instrument. If you have to hit an instrument to make a sound, that makes that instrument a percussion instrument.

I feel like you would probably like their songs "Wait and Bleed," "Duality," and "Spit it Out (2009 Download Festival). If you want a melodic song to appreciate Corey's clean vocals, check out their song "Snuff." Corey's a vocal beast! He can do it all; great clean vocals, guttural screams, and he can even rap!

A lot of their songs have that delicious delivery of that similar to rap/hip hop. I used to play in a shock metal band and would write songs this way. I'm a metal head who would practice constantly to fast paced rap to bring that elemental delivery to my own music whilst perfecting covering Slipknot. A solid solitary reason to appreciate their style

You'll hear a lot of hip-hop elements in Slipknot's music. One of the genres they draw inspiration from is nu-metal, which blends metal with other genres, hip-hop being one of them.

I have NEVER commented on any of these KZbin channels but you made me want to and I LOVE it!! I do like the way that you expressed the fact that Slipknot (massive fan of Slipknot by the way) can cross genres. I have seen Slipknot on a couple of occasions and they are good as their videos on KZbin... Better even!! Just thought I needed to let you know. The drummer by the way is Jay Weinberg (if you didn't know already) who is the son of Max Weinberg from the E Street Band (his father is the drummer for Bruce Springsteen, and I believe Jay has played for the E Street Band also), I'm from England by the way. Keep those videos coming... I'm hooked!!

We are called maggots and welcome to the family. I've been a maggot since 1999. I love when people that dont listen to rock listen to slipknot. The reactions are absolutely priceless. As for the hip hop influence it comes from the DJ. Hes called 0 in slipknot but he name is DJ starscream. Yes 9 people in the band. The current line-up of Slipknot is Corey Taylor on vocals, Shawn 'Clown' Crahan and Chris Fehn on percussion, Mick Thomson and Jim Root on guitar, Alessandro 'V Man' Venturella on bass, Jay Weinberg on drums, Sid Wilson on turntables and Craig '133' Jones on samples and keyboards

Welcome to the "Maggot" family Scribe. Something to note with the lyrics of this song is at the time you pointed out all nine members is that the vocals follow not just a left to right pattern with a message, but initial word/backrground vocals follow an up to down with a backing message... brilliant songwriting. Hope that makes sense.
