I was in the crowd during that set at Download 2009, and the video just doesn't do it justice... it was absolute carnage! Saw them at Download last year too, and it was arguably the best I've ever seen them! For real man, going to a show like such will change your life, the atmosphere and mutual positivity and energy is electric!

Just so you know, if you do more Slipknot you will see their masks evolve over time. Each album cycle they alter their masks to some extent. The guy in the clown mask used to bring a mask to rehearsals and that's kinda what started it off. The lead singer has said that, "The reason we started wearing the masks in the first place was to take the emphasis off identity and we used it to get more into the music."

Europe's one of the best places to go for Metal Concerts. A bit of background on the masks. It was an artistic choice so their faces wouldn't take anything away from the music. It was a long time before they revealed their faces and only a few have. Its not about any one individual but them as a whole and what is brought to a show and their music.
