The point in the masks was to hide their identities. They didn't want to be known by faces but for their music. The jumpsuits were to be so unmarketable etc. A reaction to pop music

@@Humble197 different members have said semi different meanings. Clown (founder) said the masks carry a few meanings. To represent who they are inside and reflect it visually & to go through hell on stage (dehydration, vomiting, bleeding, etc.) during slipknot shows inside their masks to this day. Sure some see it as a gimmick. But Slipknot themselves saw it as a different outlet to express themselves visually without the ridicule of being judged by what their real faces look like.

There first time headlining download. It was there dream doing that. It's a special moment that everyone new to metal should see, and feel. I'm not saying this is the only live shit they should listen to. The live version of duality download 2004 or 2005 video was one of the best performances. Or before I forget 2009 rock am ring was a special moment. Or Custer knotfest 2014 was fucken crazy and more.
