I think you're unnecessarily dissing other drummers by saying few will match his stage presence and passion. There are thousands of drummers out there playing with sincere passion, all the way from high school talent shows to stadium gigs! That being said, you could often tell that Joey was having fun back there, which is admirable. RIP Joey

Met them in person back in 2001 when I was still a kid in high school. They done a signing at a local record store in Glasgow, Scotland. Managed to see them live in 2004 for the first time and they were on absolute fire. Never a dull moment back then, or even now

It was a refreshing slap in the face when everyone was going the way of Colin Richardson style tightness and refinement for their guitar tone and using Dual Rectifiers for everything. Don’t get me wrong, that’s an amazing sound in its own right, but nothing sounds quite as aggressive and raw as Slipknot’s self titled.
