I would say Craig leaving was probably planned since before this album was even being made or during recording.I know for a fact that Craig's involvement has been drastically less on the last 2 albums. (WANYK,TESF) Pfaff has basically taken over for the most part on keyboards & samples.I really think that he just doesn't feel he needs to be there anymore.I mean if you really think about it he is "just a sampler"...🙄 The way I look at it him being gone is just another chapter to close & another one to open.Zac taking over will probably add a lot to their sound especially having Pfaff being involved as well.Can't wait to see what comes next, even if it's a little scary.

Vol. 3 has risen fairly high in the recent years. Its my second favorite after Iowa and I put it before S/T.

I still prefer S/T and Iowa over Vol. 3 but I WILL say... if Corey's scream wasn't so trash on that album, it would rank right up with the first 2, acoustic tracks and all. It IS the most musically well put together album that they have for sure. I just still have a hard time getting past the scream that Corey went with at the time. It's just so trash compared to Iowa. I'd be more accepting if his scream developed into Vol.3 these days out of necessity, but jumping straight from the Iowa scream to Vol.3 is so jarring and one is so much better than the other. Hell, I'd even love to hear Vol. 3 vocals redone with his current vocals. Even THAT would bump it up a lot for me.

Damn. When I first started screaming I tried to do the Iowa scream and blew my voice out within a month of starting screaming. I just gave up on Iowa and learned FC.@@MatthewSparks

The way I think about Slipknot’s music is that the first three albums are great ALBUMS from top to bottom, even Vol. 3 despite how much more radio-friendly it is. From AHIG to WANYK the albums have great SONGS, but the records themselves all have songs that I personally skip. But TESF doesn’t have a single track that I like or would save to a playlist(maybe Yen comes close). I’ve listened to the full album 7-8 times and I like it less and less with each listen. Even for what it is - an artsy, experimental record - it just isn’t good in my opinion. But that’s just me. And I’ve been a maggot since 2002, so I’m not new to the Slipknot game.

I completely agree with you about WANYK, I think this album is overlooked because of when it was released & because there was little to no touring behind it because of Covid, I may be wrong, but I think had it been toured, more people would say this is one of their best albums. The only dud on there is Red Flag for me, the rest are top notch. And, this one has the diversity like Volume 3, without losing focus as The end so far did. I recently came back to this album & had to admit that it’s my favorite Slipknot album & what a way to close with Solway Firth being a complete rager.

This is basically what I basically tell people! It's the most COMPLETE album experience in that it provides both a ton of diversity in terms of musicality AND emotional experience. Any kind of vibe, feeling, or song type that I want, I can find in Vol. 3. There isn't a song on there that I don't think is great, truly. Thanks for the comment and for watching the video!

I'm not really into Iowa or S/T as much as I used to be because I enjoy the more diverse direction of Slipknot more now than before. Also, I feel like Look Outside Your Window(whenever Clown will get up off his ass and release it) could be an album filled with songs like Danger Keep Away, at least I hope so.

The drop in quality from WANYK is so unbelievable until you consider they rushed it out to finish the contract. I don’t expect more then 4 songs to hit the setlist with none staying on by the next touring cycle.

Heirloom is the worst song slipknot has ever made… and possibly the waiter song ever made. I am the same way you are with slipknot… found them when I was very young, first album was out… been my favorite band since. Seen them live 8 times… but this isn’t slipknot. They can call it art or whatever they want, but this album just sucked. How do we go from WANYK to this?
