Paul was a great Bassist, but the rest of the guys are extremely capable of continuing because of their exceptional ability. I know it won't be the same, but a replacement Bassist ensures that Corey, Mick, Jim, Joey can continue doing their thing instead of fading away. I listed them because they are the fundamental parts of the band. Sid, Clown and Chris and (insert keyboard man name here) are cool too but not vital (sid is a sick DJ though)
