You wanna know what I think this show could've done? This is a stupidly long shot, but I think this could've been a good point to watch Jimmy slip into his, y'know, "Slippin' Jimmy" phase. How he went from a straight-A kid to a delinquent. Maybe even show Chuck's point of view as he slowly ducks, weaves and crawls his way to the top, all while the two of them grow up to become teens and maybe even adults. This way, we get a bit more context into what happened to the McGill family. From the father who refused to put his foot down, to the beginning of the divide between Jimmy and Chuck, and more. And if that doesn't work, just chalk Slippin' Jimmy into urban legend or drug hallucinations or something, I dunno. :/

I can tell you who it's made for. The same audience all these shows like Paradise PD and Hoops are made for. Edgy pre-teens whos humour is as sophisticated as basic toilet and shock humour, who convice themselves the shows are 'adult' because they're edgy, or teens/adults with the same mindset as a pre-teen. Who watched Breaking Bad as a power fantasy with out realising the entire show is a deconstruction of the very thing they watch it for, all the while meanlessly hating skylar because she's antagonistic in a realistic way, whilst being upset that their surrogate protagonist dies. Those who disliked Better Call Saul for it's complex nuanced topics with limited violence and power fantasy and lower stakes. Because they couldn't engage with it. So I'm new to the whole Slippin' Jimmy universe. I've just watched the third episode of Slippin' Jimmy, but so far, I have to say I don't really understand all the praise this universe gets. The animation is ugly, the characters are boring, the movie references are tired and honestly kind of lazy, and the fart jokes got tiresome really quickly. How similar in tone are the other two shows in the SJTU (Slippin' Jimmy Televised Universe)? Can I expect SJ to get better, or maybe can I skip the whole series and jump straight to Better Call Saul, even though chronologically Slippin' Jimmy takes place before it? Would I understand anything?
