I did this following your video and when i keyed on, at the bottom of my 3.5 the new 2.0 fw is loaded on but its booting up so fast i can hardly read anything up at the top of the screen but after afew power ups it did say sd found but below that it said fw not found? Im so stumped i have a bad feeling somethings wrong with my ecu, out of the box iv had nothing but issues. This has been a year later after instal of my terminator x max and still not on the road ugh, iv had it runing but falls on its face as soon as i put in gear

I need a video on how to update through the 7" screen or through the usb directly connected to the can connector in the harness. My Terminator didn't come with a 3" screen so unfortunately this one doesn't apply to me.

@sloppy , can you ask holley if they would enable input B21 for the gm transmissions, Looks like on the 4r70 its an input that can measure line pressure. So we could monitor line pressure without using one of the 4 main inputs..

you would copy it out of the holley GCF folder, i said in the beginning this is a guide if you have done nothing, so after this you can use the v2 wizard and start fresh, if you already have a tune file you need to copy it off or save it with a laptop etc and re load it with v2 software

@@SloppyMechanics Tried to update from V1 to V2 build 80. No dice. Was told (on FB) that I had to go to V2 build 50 first, then update to 80. Is this true? I cannot locate the build 50 file on the website. All Holley is showing now is build 80 (SD card contents). Seeing that Holley just has 80 on the site, I am thinking you don't have to go to 50 first. Maybe I need to slowly copy each file one by one to the SD card, as some have suggested it worked for them.

I just did all this exactly and followed your video twice to make sure I did not make a mistake but when I download those files there is no “tslcd” file loading from Holley to update the handheld…WTF HOLLEY? Can I get somebody to send me this file and just download it onto my SD card in the proper place? My ECU updated but my handheld did not so I can’t get any of the wizards to work and I’m dead in the water

Great video! Holley doesn't tell you how to get to 2.7. they tell you its the latest software on the site, then you download it and get the mismatch error.

By putting the new firmware on the lcd card it will upload much faster. Or update to v5-v6 and use the USB/can adapter. The firmware update takes mere seconds that way. Speaking terminator/hp ecu here, not terminator x.

Never delete the content. If update fails and you need to return to last known good configuration you're screwed. Save the card content until update is complete dude.

@@SloppyMechanics yeah, In all fairness maybe the terminator x is different? However, I bricked an hp ecu and had to send it to Holley, they weren't able to recover it, said if I had kept the file that was in it they may have been able to recover it. Wasn't splitting hairs bro, just hoping to help someone avoid a very expensive mistake that I have made. In my case it was an older ecu and not covered under warranty, 1200 bucks down the drain. Honestly, wasn't trolling. Love your vids and content, get a lot out of them.

As a side note, the hp/dominator are particularly sensitive to voltage spikes and variations. In my case I had a low battery and figured it was ok being on the charger, so I'm not faulting Holley at all. It was my mistake. Moral of the story have battery fully charged, if on a charger while updating make sure it is a quality charger and nothing more than a low amp trickle charge. I'm not the only one, guys have killed dominator ecus jump starting their cars and using high amp boost chargers. I'd have to assume the lower price terminator x and xmax are even more susceptible to this? At least they can be opened up and repaired, a fully potted ecu is junk if you pop the power supply etc. Rant over. Just makes me cringe thinking about someone else trashing a new ecu doing what I did. Nothing arced no fuses popped, it simply froze while updating, tech said it probably corrupted the file. So please guys be careful, read the manual thoroughly, and make damn sure you get it wired per the manual. I was doing exactly what you do in this vid with a battery charger hooked up when it happened.

Holley has a 7 minute video that goes through the process.
