Amazing work man, it looked incredible, lighting was on point, script, editing, grade - the whole package. Tight. Wasn't even thinking about gear when I watched it. Incredible to achieve this in 3 hours. Wasn't super interested in these lenses but you make a solid case for them.

Great film! It’s striking. Also a little jarring to go from something so well done back to regular KZbin where we’re just talking about products. Really nice job!

When that guy went to steal the globe and he went to cut him, I laughed out loud. Great little script here and well done on this one. Really enjoyed it. Fun watching something talking about a product that doesn't feel like a review or sales pitch.

I guess the "Anamorphic look" is lost on me, since I watched the whole White Elephant short and never realized they were shot on anamorphic. Guess I am just a bit of a cretin when it comes to the anamorphic look. I did like the lighting a lot though.

I Try Nightwalker cine lenes 16 and 35 mm and 35 anamorph cinelense, with my sony fx 30, and i have to say, these lenses Are Incedible for the price! The quality is outstanding, THese Laowa Nanomorph 1.5x Anamorphic Cinema lenses are not "Budget" for my Choice, I mean 2k is budget in lens categories but , Try nikgwalker suiri, Best regards Stivan
@sloppysteaksАй бұрын
ive made videos about the nightwalkers (they are not anamorphic), they don't hold a candle to these, and look more like re-housed photo lenses anyways. these are budget and cheap in the anamorphic space, especially with this quality.
@stivan_musicАй бұрын
@@sloppysteaks Sorry i know , nighwalker is not Anamorphic, these are Cinelenses, BUT do u need to film Anamorphic? I Alway s Film With Cinelenses, and capture more Space if i am Filming, and croping to "fake" 2.35 cinespace..

What beautiful people in this clip! Anyone of them could tell stories on their own! The colours looked really rich and saturated. The only thing that called attention to itself was...the fact that I failed to grasp the idea behind the camera swaying into and away from the subjects so much. Perhaps to emphasise hand-held shooting by real cinematographers with real nervous systems and real muscles that can cramp up standing/crouching into from of the subjects so long? EDIT: I just watched it again at KZbin's normal speed instead of watching it at MY normal 2X speed. Whew! What do I want for Christmas thus year? A longer attention span!🤣 Mele Kalikimaka and Hau'oli Makahiki Hou to you and all your friends and family. 🎄

That short was awesome, man. Do you think the Sirui ones look better in comparison? Or the nightwalkers? I know those aren’t anamorphic but in terms of looks? Like if someone is trying to get a good look out of footage something like the Helios 44 (referring to your Batman video) do you think in your opinion any other budget anamorphic/cinema lenses come close to that look? Also, the lens you got on for this video has a real nice look too, what is it? Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, Patrick! From across the world from an aspiring filmmaker from Pakistan. Best wishes!🎄

I love anamorphic, but I actually want spherical lenses with a oval-shaped diafragma. Just the oval-shaped bokeh. Nothing more. Great job on the skit!

Look into sirui anamorphics like the Saturn. They feel like spherical to me.

That’s been my thought process lately. Does it look like cinematic? Or does it look like shit? The closeups look clean and crisp, yet stylized. Awesome short.

Very interesting ! But why upload the video in 16/9 letterboxed, when KZbin supports 2.39:1 ?
@sloppysteaksАй бұрын
this isn't 2.39. we shot open gate 6K which is 3:2, so final after desqueeze is 2.25:1 - and I prefer the letterbox over native, especially for online. it looks much better in the UI.

Short film: I laughed at the punch line. And I have a crush one of the characters. Good job. Lenses: A few questions. What's the price point? And what would happen if I used them on something with a Super35 or cropped sensor? I shoot my "premium" client stuff on an old RED Raven, which isn't even close to full frame. Anamorphic is something I've never even tried since all my clients want 1920x1080 deliverables for television. Superman: Saw your other video on your other channel. The trailer looks.... different than Zach Snyder. What are your thoughts about seeing the same story over and over again? Is it a bad thing that we keep seeing slightly different spins on movies we've already seen two or three times in the last half century? Is there a project you think James Gunn should be spending his energy on that isn't Superman?
@sloppysteaksАй бұрын
1400 a lens. 5k for the kit - for comparison a single atlas mercury is like 5k. You can use them on S35 just do the 1.5x squeeze math for your crop factor.
@cws_dp22 күн бұрын
5400 for the 4-lens kit, plus taxes. Atlas Mercury are 8k per lens. You don't want to use these lenses on anything smaller than S35 and S35 is gonna give you 1.5x crop on every lens. You'll be using the very center of each lens, which means you will see even less distortion and with that field of view, they will be sharp edge to edge. These are much better paired with full frame.
