In scale speed, it would be faster than F1 cars, but yeah, it's not faster in reality. F1 cars aren't even the fastest in cornering. That title goes to F1 powerboats.

Just got into slot cars with my kids and this speed is insane. I love how at this caliber theyre barely even "cars" but more so just hunks of aerodynamic plastic on wheels, lmao. Very cool, though!

I’ve driven one there is multiple classes I drove wing-10 in Australia very hard to get use to the speed and timing of corners. But very awesome.

I raced in the early '90's. My fastest time around a track like that was 2.4s. They were doing it at 1.65 which is insane. I think they were using glue in the corners.

Das ist für mich einfach nur affig. Da kannste auch nur ne Hinterachse und einen Leitkiel in den Slot hängen. Und Autos sind das auch nicht mehr!

Most of the time they drive at maximum speed. Their downforce is very high. Slower cars (without side dams) are much more difficult to drive. I am a former G12 Dutch Campion. The track records are still mine.

i used to race as a kid, a big challenge was keeping the motor alive. quite a bit of strategy comes into play with gearing selections and tires etc.

I was thinking the same, cpt Kirk.. How on earth can they keep track of this? Unless it's all flatout it looks impossible to throttle control this. Insane fast.. And we are used to Warp and FTL, so we know what fast is. lol.

Honestly the only real driving is on White, red purple and black, the other 4 lanes those guys were running flat out. And believe it or not, the ear is better than the eye at this level

I couldn't tell you the voltage as I myself am new to the hobby, but yes, they are really that fast. I've seen it in person, and it's nuts.

high current. the motors pull~40 amps at start, cruise(full on) @ ~2 amps. 120,000+ rpm. this has been going on since the 70s actual 70mph+ ~mach2 @scale

Cars are ugly, the track is ugly, it is too fast to enjoy anything. Absolutely not my thing. I prefer by far slot cars looking like real ones and track looking more real with some landscape and decorations.
