I've always loved Sci-Fi and the idea of being right on the edge of discovery and the frontiers of space. And doing exploration in EVE allows me to do all of that stuff. You get to use cloaking devices, probes to scan down unknown parts of space. You get to go to places in space, which are dangerous and unknown. And discover valuable ancient relics from long-dead civilizations. You could even go into wormholes which take you into unknown parts of space.
