Not surprised to see this outcome, even Bittersteel had to turn off debuffs plus multiple attempts. I don't think the developer is being cheeky like the world ablaze devs. I believe it is just simply way too late in the war for the player to salvage it like Alex the Rambler's player saves series lol.

I saw that video of Bittersteel, and he pretty much gave up Italy, the Netherlands and retreated to Central North Germany, holding just enough he did not capitulate. He also kept Norway for the resources. then held the Russians and hit the allies when they got worn out battering the rivers.

Listen Tommy, I am going to tell you how CountCristo did the 1945 Endsieg. Basically allies are way weaker than Soviet Union, so he created a carefully designed thin strips in his frontline where there were no soldiers, so the allies could go through to the south and east side, eventually leaving only 4 tiles of border with Soviet Union. It all worked out because Soviets cannot go through Allies teritory and vice versa. Then You have to stabilise the front and probably buy metal from sweden and grind them slowly.Thats it

@@ommsterlitz1805 Well warfare was hugely different back then, Germany had 3 wide land fronts on all different parts of Europe at once with allies having technical and manpower advantage, also in almost every conquered country they had to fight with huge partisant movements, since 1943 Germany was being totally bombed and had shortage of resources and manpower, since 1944 they didnt even had much help from their allies except Hungary and they started sending teenagers to the frontline even before 1944/45

If your division has 100 defense, then 100 of the attacks will deal less damage. If it has 1000 defense - 100 attacks will deal less damage, same as with 100 defense. Defense only needs to be as big as the enemy attack, more than that means nothing.

I managed to "survive" in the second scenario (April 24th) with all the debuffs. My strategy was to hold just Kiel and the tile next to it across the Kiel canal (and Denmark too obviously). Your capitulation progress will be 99% but you won't actually capitulate even if Hitler suicides. The key is to let the Allies capture everything up to Kiel so you don't border the Soviets. You also have to capture a port in Latvia and evacuate your troops but that's actually quite easy since the Soviets don't have a lot of divisions there. You then just stack divisions on those 2 tiles and leave a few port guard and you can survive pretty much forever

24 units into netherlands you can use the denmark and norway divs. Divide the rhur pocket into 3 generals, holding each town, and the otherone reinforcing each town and 1 forest province last stand generals in towns as you wish until operation complete then delete the units. Frontline hold both fronts in italy (use italian units and croat units + your army in italy (DO NO CEDE AN INCH OF LAND) Frontline in slovenia 4 tiles to the alps. The hardest part hold the riverline against france pull all your units from berlin area, form a dome from wutemberg to vienna. Delete all the units in the curland pocket if you need equipment they dont count as encirclement as they are inside a puppet

I know im late to say this, but you can make stuff easier by using your preexisting air wings. Just tame them, fly them to the region and merge the air wings there. Its helps to have somewhat of an air force. By deleting them, the enemy gets 50 hours (2 days! The mod starts on 12th of april and irl Berlin fell on the 2nd of may. You ground your air force for 10% of the campaig) of uncontested air. The cas will ravage you.

I haven´t watched the stream, so I don´t know, if tommy used the "scorched Earth" button on provinces he left undefendet, even if the AI doesn´t care about supply, they still get the debuff from lacking it in Battle, it would take pressure off from some fronts, so there are more units left for others. That combined with Grand Battle Plan (+engineer corps for faster entrenchment) or maybe Grand assault (on the right path) could buy some valuable time to consolidate, equip units and get entrencht. Basicly pulling a UDSSR during 1941, just on a much smaller scale. Just an Idea I had while watching the video, don´t know if it would help tho.

yea its pretty hard with the debuffs. i was able to hold pretty long, i think till june or july with just holding hamburg to rostock, sacrificing the rest of germany. the buff to not surrendering for 25% less land or whatever is pretty good. i think if tommy tries this strat it could work. im not sure if anyone has beaten seelow heights (i think thats what this is) with all modifiers, but i know bittersteel beat it with no modifiers. basically i think the easiest way to hold is in the north or the south. north is like hamburg to rostock, like 2 tiles on the elbe, or the south is like holding munich and some cities around it, taking advantage of the mountains, the danube, and the impassable terrain there. got these ideas from curt who games, you should check him out hes a good hoi4 creator

@@xeon39688 at this level it pretty much is. the only reason anyone with about 1500 hours or more cant beat endsieg or seelow heights or downfall or whatever is because the enemy gets insane buffs and germany gets insane debuffs so germany just gets beat back to berlin super quickly especially in seelow heights. if someone with as much time in the game and as much time in mp actually gets given the chance to hold and build up, they just win every time. the issue is finding out the optimal place to hold where you can actually hold and then build up enough to push back. if you are holding in a industrial hub like northern germany around berlin, you can build up. just look up aurim's videos on endsieg, he pretty much does the same strat every time lining up on the oder and the elbe and just building up with tanks, pushing the allies into france, capping them, and then turning toward the soviets and winning. ive tried seelow heights like maybe 10 times and have not once been able to hold indefinitely. ik in my original comment i said all you have to hold is like hamburg to rostock but i think after you lose berlin, like 20 days later your surrender threshold goes down and you cap if all you have is hamburg to rostock and the cities north of that. so i think the real strategy that might actually work is holding munich, salzburg, nuremburg, etc. along the danube and the impassable terrain. TL:DR: yes it is. if you can hold and youre as good as tommykay or dankus or bokoen etc, if you can hold in an endsieg type of mod, you can win.

this mod is not meant to be beat up the whole point is to see how long you can hold the allies and soviet get insane buff as time go on so at one point the only way to really push is whit nuke and its impossible to get Air superiority when you factory keep getting bombed

Ive seen people beat this simply by consolidating all his troops and setting up a defensive line in thin strip between germany and denmark which he calculated would be just enough not to cap. And then just wait it out till he had enough strength to strike back with semi good tanks. I think he also (by luck though) got the allies to basically cut off the soviets from attacking him which helped a lot.

I can tell from all your cusswords you've said in 15 minutes that you are having a hard time of it. If you went full potty mouth is 15 minutes of game time, I can imagine all of the verbal excrement that Hitler must have said over the course of several days. I propose a Game Condition: If you put a point value on all of your F-Words, S-Words, D-Words, etc., and exceed a cussword score, then Hitler has reached the frustration level sufficient for his commission of Suicide. Hitler's April 23rd Hissyfit was Legendary, with his face turning black. This cussword point count system I propose keeps the April 23rd Hissyfit in mind and will impose a certain historical realism.
