@@generaluncivilized27 just because it was under the AO rule or zhe HRE or frankish rule doesnt mean it didnt exist before. Slovenian is literally in the oldest wtitten slavic texts. Czech and slovenian still use duality which is an old trait that most other languages lost.

We learnt this in our class this year and nobody was fascinated and nobody laughed. We were all bored. Probably because our county Štajerska was the only Slovene land back then that wasn’t ruled by the French.

Illyrian Provinces were incorporated into France (Empire of France) they were not made a Puppet state (like Poland (Duchey of Warsaw) or Germany (Confederation of the Rhine) for example). Perhaps it is strange for someone but it shouldn't be, it is a well known fact.
