I simply love this lesson. I am working my way through the beginners course slowly, but constantly return to this lesson for a bit of variety. I really enjoy these lessons where Christian constructs an improvisation and explains his thoughts process. Inspirational.

Brilliant format; as a constructive criticism, it would be great to add a full performance at the end with several choruses to show the examples in use without interruption so that we can watch and see how they all fit together and see how the blues format works with each example. I love this general format though!!

Nice lesson . And I like the sound of your piano ) I don't really like listening to slow blues (it makes me either cry, or feel lonely or call my ex-ex-girl-friend, or get a better job , or write the best song in the world , or buy a couple of beers and sit at the piano , thinking that I'll never be able to play like this :) , but it's great fun playing it) Thanx for your lessons !

Christian! This is Rab from Victoria (Canada). You are my favourite KZbinr. I love all your blues lessons. Not so much the pop lessons but...I learn alot of cliches and progressions there. I am what the snobs call a youtube learner. I dont care I doing it. That being said could you do a lesson or two on youtube learner mistakes and pit falls? I feel inversions are not my strong suit. And of course counting!!! I figured you may have seen this in your students.

@@kutay8421 Indeed, they are hidden behind the happy rocks of the major blues scale. Which includes the pentatonic.

Sorry there is none for this one. Slow blues when played "real" is generally hard to put in notes in its original sound. Just think of the faster running blues scale runs with no meter.. .

Thanks Christian, another great lesson. I'm a complete novice so excuse by ignorance, but is it ok to play the C, F and G major chords instead of the C7,F7 andG7 voicings you show in your videos? It seems to sound good to my untrained ears just less bluesy?

You're right, it's less bluesy. Not really wrong, but an important interval is missing.

I love the sound of this lesson, but I get sometimes confused with the rhythm of the right hand (as the left hand is very slow). Is there a document for this ?
