I love the real candid home cooking, the lack of perfection makes these vids so much better. Just relaxing making a feed and being real, it's so refreshing. The only problem is a lack of pet tax, would love to see them as well.

My old man was once denied entry to a workers club because he was red and profusely sweating after having too much chilli in his lunch. He was over 60 years old at the time and the only one in the group not drinking. He always said how much he prefers hot English mustard... The comment section on these videos are slowly becoming my place to share stories of my late father who was a chef his whole life... I should probably go to therapy. Loving your work guys!

Never put tomato sauce or canned soup in any slow cooked meal. Way too much sugar and salt. Chicken beast not a fave either. I think its a boring meat unless I'm making schnitzel. Lots of fresh fish and venison in this house.

Andy and Katelyn! Still loving this channel and the informal content, just you being yourselves ❤ Slow cookers are great but not for everything. Please don't think I'm being critical as a I'm hopefully a decent home cook, but unlike you I'm not a chef, so you are way more talented than me. My tips for slow cookers for home cooks (just my personal opinion): 1. Add far less liquid than you would think you need as you get hardly any evaporation, especially if you're adding any veggies. 2. Great for low and slow cooking of tougher joint's of meat (i.e. rolled brisket, beef shin etc), just add in a few mm of stock/water/wine/port, garlic, onions, herbs, stock cube or whatever you like. The meat juices will add to the liquid. Once cooked, rest the meat, and use these delicious juices to make a lovely gravy. 3. Fantastic for pulled pork, but again follow tips for adding only a small amount of liquid. 4. Fantastic for any recipe involving minced meat (or ground meat depending on your termination as to where you are in the world). i.e. chillies, ragu, savoury mince and onions, Keema etc etc You can cook it for hours and hours and it'll only get better. 5. Not so good for stews as the meat turns stringy. Please feel free to politely comment on my tips, and I'd be happy to hear any of your tips and tricks for slow cooker recipes! 🙂😋❤

Loved the outdoor kitchen. Favourite non food KZbin channel would have to be Wildlings Sailing, just a guy on his own renovating a catamaran that has never been used and has just been left on the water in Amsterdam for 15 years. I think the reason is it's a small channel and you feel a good connection with him, so it's a little bit like Back of House.

I've been using my slow cooker a lot lately, it is summer here in the US and I live in the high mountain so 100/F and 15% humidity... very dry. I've been slow cooking some beef short ribs with some sliced onions and water filled just above the meat. 4 hours on high or 6 hours on low setting, super juicy, beautiful onion beef soup... we have a company here called Carnivore Crisps and they make beef flour (dehydrated salted beef, blended into powder), I add a tablespoon of that with the water and some salt. SO good!! Highly recommend :)

I wanna pick up one of those American "instant pots" because it looks like you can easily just program them for whatever temp and time you want, where are the ones you tend to get in Australia force you to use some stupid program and then they reset to "warm" mode after the allotted time (this has ruined my yoghurt twice - because the warm mode cooks it!). I reckon it makes sense to get a pressure cooker that can slow cook rather than having a separate slow cooker taking up space for no reason. Also good to hear some support for chicken breast. It's a cliche to just hate on breast and insist on thigh. Just don't overcook the breast! Breast also has a nicer texture for people who are not natural meat eaters.

Just made quesadillas last week. I don't do the fold over though. I do whole tortillas one on top the other and flip the entire thing, (I live on the edge - LOL). You should try the chicken with black beans and roasted corn instead of the Pico de Gallo. Really good that way.

I'm vegetarian so I can't really relate to trying new meats or products as much because most produce isn't considered rare or "strange" to cook with. What types of meats or food items have you been more cautious or nervous to try? Why? I feel like if I was a meat-eater I'd be open to trying lots but I'm a bit picky with texture and some more "strange" (not trying to be offensive my brain is just not working on a Sunday eve) meat products seem to have interesting textures. As always, love the content. My favourite to watch as my Sunday night entertainment. P.s. When your South Australia trip happens Katelyn, definitely ask the BoH viewers for recommendations, we'll guide you to the best wineries 😛

Question for you, Andy. Are you as tidy around the chopping board when the camera is off as you are in these videos? I can understand the need for a clear look on camera but I'd be mightily impressed if what we see on this channel is actually the norm (e.g. clearing away every piece of tomato immediately after you've chopped if off, everything in neat piles etc.)

Thanks for this video. I agree with Andy, slow cookers can be hit&miss especially when aiming for a finish time and desired end-result with moisture level, but low setting should be enough to cook full chicken breasts? I doubt it stays strictly on 60 C. Worthy of a temp probe test if anyone is curious enough
