Excellent commentary on slow living. As someone of a similar age, I remember the double shifts, the weekend working, having two, sometimes three, jobs. The prospect of going back to the army "for a rest" was very tempting, LOL. I remember snatching a few hours to go to TGO, eventually taking the kids with me as they grew older. I'm fortunate, though. My town sits on a large busy estuary. It has a wartime marina and an old harbour. We have miles and miles of woodland walks along the varied foreshore. Behind us to the South, and on either side, East and West of us, are three large accessible estates with mixed woodland and parks. With the right to roam here in Scotland, they can be quite busy. At the end of my street, there's even a small woodland. With health and mobility issues affecting me now, this is a blessing. Permanent slow living is a dream for many, unobtainable due to time, family, and financial constraints. It's also harder work than folk realise. But like you, for a few hours, I can escape. It makes all the difference. Thanks for the video.

Many thanks for your comment . I enjoyed the back story, and it reminded me I am not the only one feeling like this. It's all too easy for younger generations to believe most of us ordinary people had it easy and and with out sacrifice and hardship. I do hope I will get a taste of the fantasy of slow living some day. Hopefully, your illness will heal, allowing more time outdoors. I wish you well and appreciate your comment and watching. Andy.

Hi, I think I may never get the slow life fantasy, but I sure am hoping for a taste of it before I meet my maker. I wish you all the very best in gaining a bit of the slower lifestyle as well. Many thanks. Andy.

I understand what you mean about some staged videos. For something authentic you might enjoy Dave who is living a slower pace of life on his narrowboat "Inspired by Nature". Thank you for sharing your walk with us.

I get this traffic problem every day, but I consider myself blessed to live in the country all the same. It can take me up to an hour to get settled in. Such is the difference between normal life and slower life thanks Andy very relaxing 🙌🫡

Hi, yes, it's sure a blessing living in the countryside, especially as our small island, is becoming increasingly more urbanised . I like your style of camping. In some regards, like mine, kinda back to basics . Thanks for watching. All the best.Andy

Hi, I guess your talking about the trust looking after this wildlife sanctuary. I think it is a good idea and a worthy cause but unfortunately I have become disappointed by some big charities and trusts with how money is allocated and spent. I have not looked into this trust simply due to lack of time . Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.

I think the problem with the young is they want it all and they want it now, they don't realise life is full of compromises, give us a hint, I'm in north Cornwall lol

Hi, it is not hard to find. Look at local wildlife sanctuaries online in our area, and it's listed. With this wet weather, it's a homework project.lol. Failing that contacts me of our Facebook page, and I'll point you in the direction. You're correct. There is a culture of... here and now, coupled with the catchphrase... My best life ever which is not helping younger people move through life in a well-rounded manner . Many thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.
