I never usually comment, but now I feel like I have to. Jade, I have really enjoyed your content recently. I moved from Berlin to a small town six month ago (by choice) and it’s been necessary, but very challenging and I’ve been mourning after the loss of friendships, my family and past or dreamed versions of myself. Your representation of feeling your feelings, being kind with yourself and simultaneously building your life in a new city is so so brave and strong and I want to thank you for sharing that online. However, As someone who has realized that I’m autistic within the last months since I moved out, I want to share from my perspective that settling in a new place and building friendships as an adult is a lot more nuanced and difficult than „putting yourself out there“. It took me a long time to build my safe space in this city, and I was only really willing to meet people when I had done that. If you are disabled by a world that is generally not interested in accommodating your support needs, but also if you are an introverted person, it’s not just about mindset. Believing that we are worthy to be loved and being confident in ourselves is really hard for some of us, including me. I feel like the whole individual mindset vs. the systems we live in question is too complex to accurately cover in a vlog of less than 15 minutes. So if you are reading this feeling shit, sad or just numb: you are allowed to feel like that. Life is hard and I’ve thought before that it would be easier to leave and never return. But at least from my experience, there’s always someone out there who appreciates you more than they have told you. You are worthy to be loved just the way you are. You don’t need to earn that value, because you are a human, so you are inherently worthy. Sorry for this long comment, I hope this helps someone.
@juliette3367 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot for that comment. I think it is really important to remember that sometimes its not all about the mindset. For example, living with depression, you often cannot feel happiness/joy, because your brain just does not let you. It doesn't matter how hard you try, sometimes it's literally impossible. I know that it doesn't concern the majority of people, but for those suffering from mental disorders it is so important. It is not your fault, you just have it so sooo much harder. Hold on there, you're doing great just by surviving the day. Better days will come

I rediscovered you recently (I used to watch you while I was in sixth form) and it's been tough for me since then. I dropped out of uni twice due to anxiety issues, ended up commuting from home, but I didn't attend classes for a lot of my first year and had to get therapy to help me leave the house. Even now I don't have any friends at university, but I'm hoping to join some societies next semester. I sometimes kick myself for wasting so much time hiding away, not talking to friends, but you've made me realise that nothing is lost, you just need the right mindset to pick yourself back up. I needed time to find myself again and figure out what kind of person I want to be. I unintentionally gave myself time for self-healing which I didn't realise I needed. You inspire me to push myself in spite of feeling like I've wasted time. Here's to 21 being one of the best years of my life, because whatever happens, happens for a reason. So much love for you, thank you

What you’re going through is completely normal. Almost all of us. Went to university met a lot of great people and then we moved away and started our lives. Some people we stayed in touch with and other sadly we didn’t. It takes effort to maintain friendships over decades. Your 24 young healthy and living in London. London is at your feet. Your whole life is ahead of you embrace it! go out and live your life. Enjoy it! You only get one so live it! I’ve almost died twice and I’m in my 50s and that’s a lesson that I learned from cancer is that life is short so make the days count! do the things that you want to do! live your life. Yes you have responsibilities we all do but make time for yourself and your dreams as well. They do matter. be glad you have the agency that you have because there are people in the world that don’t have as many choices. It’s a blessing to have agency not a curse.

When I get bogged down in the doom and gloom of being a disabled person, your vlogs and videos really do make me feel so much brighter and more mindful. Your most recent chapter has been so important not only to you, but to this community that you have fostered too. Growth and change is always happening, and it is so easy to get lost in the dreariness of it all - especially in an abled world when you're a disabled person - but mindful moments and reminders to refocus on ourselves, our intentions, and the energy we want to hold can make a world of difference. I have no idea when to expect your podcast Jade, but I do know that I will be listening to every episode religiously, and hope that one day I get to hear/speak to you about living intentionally when you aren't able-bodied or there are societal and systemic barriers that try to keep those gates closed for you. Your friendship with Mik is so wholesome, and she sounds like an incredibly inspiring person too. Stay true to yourself, it's when you are most beautiful and shining! ✨

I've been going on a binge the past few days of your death/ rebirth cycle videos, from the past year or so. I just moved to Scotland with my husband and our new (only) baby. We are the same age (24) so it feels a bit crazy to say that haha. But I feel I've been going through a similar death/ rebirth cycle of my own, from a single woman to a young married one and then unexpectedly to a mother. That's like two or three deaths in a row. And now I'm moving from London to a new country (yes, Scotland is independent in the minds of Scots) without my family and my childhood/ uni friends and I feel lost and unsure and lonely and I also don't get a lot of time to process things either. So watching your Brighton moving vlogs (which is basically my hometown) and then going back to see your joruney for most of this year has been so... Illuminating. And rfreshing. LIke chicken soup for the soul. Please never stop posting

Jade thank you so much for your last few videos on your move. Thank you for being so raw and affirming how normal it is to feel so much, particularly when so many components of our life are in the process of becoming. I moved to Granada, Spain back in September and my first two weeks were just like everything you had experienced at your start in London. It's been a while since then and I understand more now why so many things have shifted the way they did. The sadness and loneliness seem now like old friends that were only there then to push me to who I am now. It feels really nice to have processed that time looking back at it now, your videos serving as a mirror to allow me to reflect. Thanks for reminding me today how beautiful it is to feel. Sending so much love.
