Just the other day I was feeling so happy, many old memories from the past coming back to me. It's winter where I live and I've popped two extra blankets on my bed, one I got as a 21st gift from my grandparents and the other a blanket I crocheted when I was 20yrs old, I'm close to sixty now and still enjoying them. I couldn't buy the memories and happiness that these blankets give me in the shops in town. Love to you and Molly. P.s the clouds looked spectacular as you were driving along 💙

You're bang on about food. One of the very best things I've ever done for my wallet and health is start intermittent fasting. It is the single most beneficial thing you can do for your health. And it fits in very well with slow living, they complement each other so well as I spend less, eat less, shop less, and REALLY enjoy my one meal a day.

@primalengland you're doing yourself a lot of good by fasting. When the body isn't using up energy to digest food, it's used elsewhere to clean up dead cells, improve the immune system, and beating off disease and cancer. I wish you well 👍

Great topic Nigel. I don't live minimalistic, but all the things I buy is what I really use. Of course, there was a time I did spend money on things and I regretted it. I think we all fall into a trap: 50 % sale, oh I must buy it, although I don't need it, but I saved 50%. No, you just wasted 50% 😉. Being content or happy has nothing to do with material stuff, it's our surroundings and comes from within. Take care 🖐

After 20 years of not having a car I have decided to buy a small, second hand car. I'm also getting a second rescue dog, so I don't think I am doing very well spending less.

You just overturned your own argument. 😁 Getting a car as an alternative to spending all day on public transport is just common sense, and if you do as few miles as me, you probably won’t spend much more than you do now.
