I keep my pantry pretty simple, having just ingredients, but it brings me a lot of joy to make our food from scratch with high quality ingredients. What it cost me in time, it saves us more in money!
Clothesline Inspiration video: • Homemaker Chats: Build...
If you're unfamiliar with Azure Standard, this is where we get our ingredients that I can't source locally. I buy my sugar, sesame seeds, rolled oats, buckwheat- all organic from them at a really good price. Buying in bulk feels like a big cost up front but it will end up saving you money in the long term. It's totally free to sign up, no memberships, you just need to make sure there is a drop near you, as they only deliver once a month. If you'd like to use my link with them, it would be a huge blessing to us:

iHerb- this is where i get my Crown Prince Oysters packed in olive oil for the best price. We eat a box of these 3-4 times a week paired with homemade bread and butter pickles, raw cheese and sourdough crackers (if I have them made). Oysters are a high source of zinc! They also sell many other health food products and supplements!

LIFEBLUD - I love these supplements! My favorite products are MAG+, which is a Magnesium capsule, we take one before bed every evening. I have found that once I made your own hummus its something that I don't buy anymore. We enjoy added roasted garlic. I usually do a few heads of garlic and keep them frozen until I need them. It's nice to put each clove on parchment paper (once they have cooled from roasting) and then I keep them in a small mason jar in the freezer. This allows me to keep out a few at a time. We also like to add in roasted red pepper in the summer or even peas in the spring, steamed beets in the fall. The list can go on. Its a delicious snack or spread on a sandwich or meat.

Ooo, that is so helpful with pre roasting the garlic and storing them in a mason jar in the freezer, what a helpful idea, thank you so much! And I'll have to try the beet hummus when we get ours growing, I so appreciate your tips!

I've never thought about pollen being an issue until seeing your's and a few other ladies comments, that would not work. I've never been to Oregon, but I've heard about the rain you guys get, do you ever get used to it?

@@homewithkelli I am a native Oregonian but to be honest I have never gotten used to the rain. I wouldn’t mind so much if it only rained a few days a week but it’s so gray and rainy for months in a row. I will say. That the rain makes our state so beautiful and green! So there is that. Once our kiddo graduates high school in 3 years we are thinking we will move somewhere with at least 4 seasons.

You don't have to at all! If I'm in a crunch for time, I just soak them overnight and cook them. Sprouting makes them easier to digest, so if I have the time, I prefer to do it, but it's not necessary!

Oh My Goodness...is that a chest freezer in your 'dining room'....I thought I was the only one in the world 'inconvenienced' by that kind of oddity😆We have so many freezers that we ran out of room to put them. So now I have one upstairs in the eat in area of our kitchen & it hogs most of the usable room. 1st world problem. Too much food in my home & no where to put it. My husband & I are so industrious & resourceful & pile on a whole lot of blessings from the Lord!!! I need to be more grateful for the food & not worry about the aesthetics of a freezer where I don't want it.

I've been making my own hummus for over a year now, and after trying MANY different ways, this by far is the best recipe with tips from a great source! ☺ kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJO7dGN4bZiGbc0si=lzuKQGyPFQaheHZy I often think that I take the harder, longer, less convenient way too, but so agree with you on why I do it! ☺ Much love to you, Kelli! ❤ I was just thinking...I sure would love to do an in-person mentorship with you! I just love so much of what you do but feel overwhelmed by trying to figure it out from your videos. Spending time in-person learning from you would be a blessing on many levels!
