Watching the flyover shots at the end, I feel like it would be beneficial for traffic flow to route the entrance road around the back of the announcer stand, over closer to the trees. That was you could more easily separate off the area for competitors vs spectators when trying to use more of the available asphalt for events like auto-x

@betternbrown we have definitely talked about doing that. It would be a lot better for big trucks/trailers as well.

It is fantastic to see the progress you are making on the track. I have been watching since the start of this endeavor, and it is amazing what some hard work will do, to allow the track to breathe a new fresh life.
@Greenlightfilming8 ай бұрын
Thank you for sticking around since the start. It's been a heck of a long road, lol. At the end of the day, this is where hard work and persistence will get you. There's been no "big break" like some folks may consider being the only avenue towards being successful in what you are aiming at.

If you'd like to support the track, the best way you can do it at zero cost is by being subscribed to the channel, liking, and sharing this video. We have come a long ways, and have a LONG ways to go. Thank you to everyone that's supported us in so many ways thus far. I can't wait to see how far we can go!
@kowalski37698 ай бұрын
You've come such a long way and in a relatively short amount of time. It's not like you've been able to work year round. You've had winters to contend with and you're raising a family AND working a full time job!! Incredible!! Watching you put life back into this property basically by yourself, proves that with a lot of hard work but more importantly passion, you can succeed in fulfilling your dreams. I can't believe this is the same place you showed us from your 1st video after purchasing it!! You've done sooo much work; Cutting the grass, clearing bush, cutting down trees, cleaning out and moving the tower, painting the tower, putting in Jersey Barriers, grading surfaces, filling in cracks in the track, laying asphalt, putting up fencing, painting, fixing tractors, improving the garage, getting permits and taking care of all the paperwork, getting a timing and scoring system, draining Lake Black River and other water issues, `installing seating areas, securing food and beverages, putting in a sound system, building a bridge, installing bathroom facilities, recycling, tying old tires, I'm sure I'm missing a lot more. You're doing everything the right way too. You're not half-assing anything!! Your quote about it being a game of inches is exactly right! One project at a time. There will always be something to do in an endeavor like this and you don't want to have to go back and do something a 2nd time!! This whole project has been about a grassroots a project as you can get. The experience you are gaining with this will be invaluable! You should definitely be taking notes and putting together contact info, places or people to go to get what you need, ideas that worked or didn't work, reasoning behind your thoughts and ideas. You could put together a " How To ___" guide or book that you can turn into $$$ to help finance your projects. Hell with today's technology you could even put together a kind of multi-media type guide/book/video that could help others not only in cars or track related stuff but in any other kind of business/passion project. OK, sorry I'm getting a little carried away. I'm just so impressed with what you've done with this so far. It's inspirational!! Keep it going and Cheers!!

Interesting to see the progress being made , actually beginning to look like a proper venue . Nice to see your son running about , I play daycare for my 3 year old grandson so I can identify with the little kid cars scattered about . I'd put at least some type grill over that culvert pipe lest rocks , branches , etc. clog it up .

I was going to say that you needed to hare your gravel parking lot! Tie an old mattress springs to the back of your four-wheeler with about 6 ft of rope and drag it around for a while! This 's what we used to do back in the day to smooth out hayfields before we would plant them with grass because it makes bailing go a lot easier when you're not bouncing around on the tractor or the hay baler!!

The machine lost a hydraulic line, so we finished what we could at the depth we were at.
@burtnelson19878 ай бұрын
It's nice to see an old track being brought back to life. I think that your new drain may come back and bite you though. If it's going to have a lot of traffic over it you used the wrong pipe and didn't put it deep enough. It looked like you used PVC and it won't hold up to very much weight before crushing. It should also have been at least eighteen inches deep, and about twice as big in diameter. I know you are just trying to keep the water out of a low area, but when it collapses it will make it worse. Great progress overall though.

Broski, that culvert you did would work 100x better if you didn't just lay the pipe on the ground. You need to dig some what of a hole for the water to collect in then throw some rock down and then the pipe. Have a good spot for the water to collect then the pipe at its lowest point and the water will just do its thing. What ypu have there is a clogged pipe waiting to happen. And it's nothing expensive just a little labor.
@johngriffith73158 ай бұрын
Also that pipe will freeze solid in the winter and they will have the same issue next spring.
@Greenlightfilming8 ай бұрын
It shouldn't really hold water, it actually sits pretty high.
@Greenlightfilming8 ай бұрын
Maybe I'm missing something, but where we put the pipe, there's no ditching that feeds it at all. It's a low spot that runoff from the softball field gathers and sits. It really shouldn't ever have to handle any major flow. Should run off just fine as water reaches the height of the pipe?...
