A friend of mine owns electrical retail shop on the high street. He currently has it running on four large TVs in the main window and it is awesome! People are walking by and getting half way past the shop then just stopping in their tracks, frozen. There must be forty out there right now. Things like this should be shown on big screens in Time Square or Piccadilly London. I am sure it will help to re-focus everyone's stress levels and make you appreciate the now and not worry about the tomorrow. Thanks guys and girls xx

The thing I thought is sound travels a lot further over water than land, the only difference should be the volume as you get closer to shore. Had the same experience in a number of country's on night guard next to water, but in my case the sound was coming from the water. eerie at times...

I just got some work on my car done. This morning I’m driving and I hear this squeaking sound. After five minutes of thinking of all the things that could be causing this problem (loose belt?!?) I realize that my car started auto playing this video and I was hearing the sounds of crickets!!! Shew!

I've watch an hour so far and the "crickets" are always the same volume no matter how near or far Delos is from the shore line. Does Delos have crickets living on board or is that actually a different sound that we are hearing? Maybe Delos's motor has a loose belt. ? ? ?
@svdelos6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, well the audio was the GoPro wasn't anything but wind noise so we recorded the audio at anchor later on that afternoon. Probably why it sounds constant all the time. Lesson learned, thanks for the feedback. Brian

I'm a happy guinea p. I've been aboard now for 27.35 and loving it. Cool fact: I'm in the sun room "casual office" [42 inch stereo monitor with base woofer and surround sound plugged in] sitting @ the 1936 white oak desk as it is picking up that sweet engine rumble vibration and transmitting it to me through the wooden floor. THIS feels real! I'm happily pulled right into the Tautman Bros experience. I like my restful vantage point. Im eating my grilled ham and swiss on 12 grain [while you two munch on your morning snack] The sun's early rays now light up the tiny wake to star board. Relaxing beauty!! The speeding ticket I got this morning is now a faded and more acceptable memory. A Delos ride is great therapy. Thanks.

Love it! But what I've always wanted is to see the same thing on an ocean crossing passage. The sound of the waves and the wind in the sails, creaking blocks and ropes... So relaxing and sadly the closest I will probably ever come to experiencing an ocean voyage! Love your channel, followed you for years! Keep up the good work and god bless you all xx

I like this video. It shows the tranquility of being on a sailboat. It doesn't always have to be about partying and drinking. It's also about peace of mind and giving each other the space although be it in a small confined area to be alone with your own private thoughts. I really love following your videos they always set my mind at ease. God protect you all and bless you. Thank you so much for sharing a lifestyle that is out of reach for the moment for some of us. A few months ago, after the Technomadia couple ran into a storm submerged piling, they had to be towed way up the Miami River to a yard for extensive repairs. That hour+ long tow, just a relaxed, camera locked forward facing view starting from Biscayne Bay and up through and beyond downtown Miami, is as relaxing as any boating related video we've ever seen. We often loop it on one of the large spare monitors in the Code Pit (a lounge area where our coders swap ideas and solutions). You just can't be stressed out while watching that video. We test ran this new Delos up the river video and it's getting even better reviews. It's *that* good. It's like video Xanax. Thanks for the effort. Feel free to do more...:-).

I clicked on this and went to make a cup of coffee. I figured the it would play through the intro and I wouldn't miss anything:) I sat down and started drinking my coffee. I thought for a moment my laptop had frozen. Try this on a night sail when the breeze is steady but the seas are calm and the sky is clear with a bright moon shinning. Nothing but the sound of the boat cutting through the water. No engine, no music, no talking. Just the helmsman/person on deck. You know what I am talking about. If that doesn't turn you on to sailing nothing will.

I used to do this a lot back in the day. Glad it is being discovered again. A good microphone to use is a surround sound type. They have a large capture area compared to a directional microphone. The video should be synced to the audio so it go's together. The steadiness of the video (mounted camera) gives the viewer a good feel for what it is actually like to be there with all the sounds and sights. Glad you did this. Put a camera atop the mast for a birds nest's view of the passing items. Thanks for the videos.

As a long time watcher of your videos, and a want to be sailor, the feeling of this video is like a webcam, but a lot more because of the already established relationship your viewers have with you all. We found this video fascinating. Most videos are concentrated on a thrill a minute, disaster, or calamity. The use of ambient sound was awesome, no intrusive blasting musak background. We liked the feeling of "being there." Please produce more of these type videos (find a way to provide an external power source for the Go-Pros). Dave & Linda M/S Olivebank
@scyz28076 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing about an external bat for the Go-Pros. The signs of the batteries going dead appear to be "jumps" in the video to very different scenes. That involves the river banks instantly changing along with the sky/clouds. Two Go-Pros at each location could also overcome this problem. Still, a great job! A first try at a new concept is rarely perfect.

In the hour I've watched so far, I've found the experience to be oddly fascinating. The small stray mixing currents that you can see in the river, the slowly changing clouds in the sky, . . . The bow perspective drew me in. As a bird and animal lover I was keeping an eye out for a flying or walking critter. So far I haven't seen any birds, which seems odd. But I've still got 2 hours 40 min to go. I've also realized how distracting human beings can be! lol. Scott

After seeing the whole video I can now say that I saw quite a few birds. But I'm wondering did you guys on Delos see any local wildlife along the shore line? I'm thinking of the local version of deer or something along those lines. I tried to keep an eye out for them but didn't see anything moving in the small sections of seemingly non-forested sections of shore line. I did see one animal(?) in the river that seemed to move dynamically on the surface then submerge leaving a noticeable wake behind. In the US this may have been an otter or a muskrat.

Wow, I could not help but find myself mesmerized by the thousands of crickets surrounded by a trickling stream over rocks.! I eyes strained of abandonment to the lack of wildlife along the rive bank, and the wishful thinking that maybe, just maybe I might even see a bird. I did see a man go past in motorize canoe, and I did see a bug.This seem to surreal with wonder of what may lay ahead, and the anticipation of what might be around the next bend. I know that the giant anacondas in the area are notoriously intelligent, and that the creature from the black lagoon was never recovered. If only I could see some signs of life.Wait a minute, did we not pass that same outcrop of trees before. Stop it, just stop think so much ! If only I could get those crickets out of my head. I wonder if we took the wrong turn somewhere. Oh no....! This can't be the twilight zone.! ...Well can it ? Oh look, over there, I just seen some birds. Oh good, maybe I'm not dead after all !.

I think this is a good idea just for the different creature sounds in the jungle. I agree with James Wilson. This is a game changer for those who doubt climate change by making us see a part of this planet that seems so unchanged, almost prime ordeal, in a way, which makes us realize that it's all too precious to lose. We are stewards of all of this. This is must see TV. The maker of this vid should be talking to Nat. Geographic. or somebody else. There is real value in this extraordinary perspective.

Awesome! The fixed camera/s catching everything vs "racing through paradise" view. Perhaps 4 cameras on a split screen: Helm, Bow, Spreaders looking at the deck and one below decks that can be turned to the action, galley, table or hatch :-) The serenity of sailing vs the action packed pace. Cool :-)
