🎄🎄🎄 I am very jealous of your beautiful copy of the goblin emperor 😍😍 I looovvvee that book it's really unique! Very political but also endearing?? Maia is so sweet and he's just doing his best I hope you enjoy it!! In our family we've had a tradition since I was small where we would set aside one present each that we could open in the afternoon, so that there's a little extra surprise to look forward to after christmas dinner - it helps drag the festivities on just that little bit longer! And every year I always bake gingerbread for christmas but add wayyy more spices than the recipe says, like ginger, cloves, all spice and cinnamon (measurements? don't know her). It tastes and smells divine 🤤 the Christmas walk is also a must!

I also feel very nostalgic around Christmas time. For the first time this year I won’t be spending Christmas at my parents’ house (but they’re coming over to our flat a little later in the week), which makes me feel even more nostalgic and reminiscing. Merry Christmas! I'm Danish so we celebrate on the 24th of December in the evening, and the 25th is just a rest day 😊 we eat lovely food, typically duck and roast pork, with boiled potatoes, caramelized potatoes, steamed red cabbage and gravy. Yum! And for dessert rice porridge with hot cherry sauce. Then we dance around the Christmas tree and sing carols, and ending the evening with exchanging presents. But every family is different so there are many variations to this 😊 many go to church too, before dinner.

I'm American and my family celebrated the 24th as well growing up. Dinner and decorating at my grandparents, singing, crafting, and then we'd go home to open presents, stay up reading.. the 25th was a day of relaxation at my house 🥰 My favorite tradition celebrating this way, and not entirely sure where this came from. But I love it! 🧡

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!! I got myself about 75 middle-grade books for my almost-full library, and plan to get some YA's when I find something that I might enjoy along with my nephews and niece. However, since I'm far away from these books until mid-April at least, that means I won't be able to touch them for the next 4 months. I'm enjoying my vacation but I miss my books, too. 😂 I'm in California in case you wonder. I hope you get many of the books you wanted this Christmas. I don't ask for books because no one around me wants to buy them for me. I do sometimes get gift cards for Amazon, so I guess I get to pick my own books, but I doubt I will be getting any this year because everyone around me now is apparently hating that I am a reader and doesn't wanna respect me for it. Oh well. We shall see. Only a few hours left to go. Can't wait for the new year's content, though. I'm already excited to see what everyone recommends this time around. See you next year!!!

Merry Christmas! 🥰 We celebrated today, with dinner at 5pm, presents and dessert. We don't really have many plans other than that, just focusing on eating and resting! I got three books! I got a lovely illustrated affirmation book called "you're strong, smart and you got this", the clothbound Beauty and the Beast with images from the disney film and concept art etc. And the absolutely stunning Barnes and Noble leatherbound edition of The Snow Queen and other winter tales! Which is pretty on all sides 😂
