Man I love this car.. your attention to detail really sets your work apart. I really hope to see this car on the channel down the road when it’s finished so we can see the finished product

if i may add a few tips for a permanent install. 4 strips masking tape along the roof to glass to hold it for the first hour, on hot days it will sag. purpose of the butyl strip is it never gets hard and allows some flex when the roof panel expands/contacts from hot sun and or slamming the doors. butyl caulk actually seals the water out. good idea to keep the windows down for first 12-24 hours after install or the pressure from slamming a door could pop the seal. vintage cars with the rubber moulding require a different caulk that's non paintable bonds to rubber called "bedding" 3M 08509

Almost feel confident to do it myself. Not sure if I want to install the Windshield before or after painting the car. Also need to figure out where the lower trim clips go. Thanks for the video, keep it up.

You can do it! I would install after paint.

Isn’t that gasket just a dam for the urethane sealant? It’s not adhesive.

Car looks fantastic! What width of sealing ribbon did you use? 1/4", 3/8", 5/16"? Thanks!

If that seal is butyl then you shouldn’t use it unless you want your glass to sink to the frame (not slide down). I had butyl at first and both my front and rear glass sunk to the window frame. So I went with urethane in 1985 and it hasn’t moved. BTW, the sun loves butyl. Also it’s best to snap in your trim pieces ASAP to make sure they snap in and lock into place in case you need to move the glass a mm or two.

Yeah, butyl tape is only good if there is a seal too for like quarter glass. A windshield is a structural part of the car and needs urethane to keep you safe. Beautiful car 👍

This windshield is not glued in. You have to use a urethane 3M adhesive. What you put on was just a dam to keep the window height correct and the urethane from bleeding.

I really like the headers. I'm looking for headers that fit around the power steering. I'm having trouble finding the correct headers for my 68 Camaro 454 with power steering and power brakes. Any suggestions?
