Perfection. Their live sound is better than their albums - far more noisier and aggressive.

David Duncan: As is the case with most live recordings - but I definitely agree!

it sounds a lot more sleepy and shoegazey in my opinion - the lead guitar's sustain is a lot more prominent, and the bass is louder. i like this sound, although I feel like they aren't very comfortable with playing "Ballad of Sister Sue" live. maybe it's just me, but Rachel seems to sing too quiet (even quieter than on the studio version), and the chorus is just a botchfest, with Neil not getting on his queue, and being way too louder than the lead singer. Maybe it sounds better in raw quality, as in actually being there, but it doesn't in here.

wonderfully shot! So hard to find good footage, everyone was so awful with their camera work back then.

The year I started secondary school. Shame I was such a dopey boring bastard at 11 years old, with no interest in music, just having a footy kick about with mates...I missed prime time Slowdive (and Rachel looking her finest)!! Only discovered them 30 years later. I blame my older sister for having such bad taste in music, namely, Bros then Vanilla Ice! I didn't stand much chance of picking up good influences. Going to a Slowdive gig at 11 might have changed my life for the infinitely better. Just turned 40 and not done much of note. Damn, that thought depresses me, what could have been.

I was in college in the US in the early 90s. Slightly aware of them but they were not marketed well here compared to bands like My Bloody Valentine. Happy that I finally got into them. Better late than never!!!
