Presumption of innocence wouldn't have allowed United to re-integrate him into the squad. It's not a black and white issue jisko you can decide only by the legality. He wasn't proven guilty, but because he was also not proven innocent is why United ultimately sold him. They tried bringing him back but the backlash was too much. Wouldn't have changed this season.

Ye to mai bolra hoon (Achint). The charges were dropped but the fact that the stories uploaded when he was initially suspended already led to a media trial. The media trial wouldn't have allowed him to get back without backlash. What Arsenal is doing is wrong and they should have made their own inquiry which they haven't done.
