it really is random, like not kidding, i've seen them score insanely difficult tricks lower than tricks that aren't as difficult. at lake havasu for example Shane was consistently underscored despite doing the hardest tricks of anyone there, often doing them switch, too. and the same tricks not switch get scored higher, it's like what in the hell is the logic here.

Makes the contest shorter. Better rules would be something like 2-3 run attempts but if you bail the run is over.

A shorter event, less people are entertained usually from the runs and most people 90% of the time drop their lines run. I reckon it should be 2 lines and only 3 tricks, putting more pressure on landing a good line.

Honestly, from someone who has watched every signal SLS event since the beginning I am so disappointed in the judging. Mota got robbed on his trick.. and there is zero creativity in the contest anymore. Everything is based on math. I see Jagger do the same tricks every time because he knows it will score well. I miss the days when Even Smith and Matt Berger would jump in and you didn't know what they would try and it would be so impressive and exciting! It's to bad they wouldn't be rewarded for it. Just my 2 cents.

Peak of SLS was Joslin at world finals just winging it a few years ago. Now with the scoring they have made skateboarding robotic again. No room for creativity or improvising.

I really miss the multiple run attempts. And I reckon a run score should have to count to your overall score. Also it always seems like a massive disadvantage to go in the earlier heats. Judging seems pretty subjective.

Great skating despite everything (judging *coughs* ), but I love how Shane called the one line format out. When you only have one line and 4 best tricks you kinda have to play it safe. Hence every skater doing the same tricks they are consistent at every contest. I am not saying the lines need to count, because some skaters are stronger at single tricks, while others are stronger at lines, let them play to their strenghts, BUT give them more tries again. If you want to show better skateboarding to the world, give them a chance to risk a bit more. Some still do, and it's still great skateboarding, but you get the gist. Maybe bring back the tech and impact section to get more diversity. But this way you get the same sh*** all over every contest. That's not how you get loyal viewers. And this is coming from one.... For now....

I'd just love to see a single trick section where they're forced to skate a stair set (instead of a handrail every damn time. make a park with no main handrail).. so the judges would have re-jig their scoring tactics and dudes would actually get rewarded..it would also probably shake things up with the standings too

I wish i would have seen the final. My lil brother had sky box and me and my three other fam had general admission. We come togather we sit togather, if not I don't watch without. I got to see pamela rosa, kevin hofler, and the orignator of grind for life out front. Waste of money on a ticket, but taught three kids how to ollie and two kids how to catch a kickflip w/ their back foot. I may have missed the final. The smile I seen from those kids landing those tricks was all worth it.

it would be interesting to keep track of special interest senarios, for instance.. how does kelly heart judge skaters that skate for mob or es compared to skaters who dont as well as other judges.. there is clear as day favoritism and bias at play in the judging. and everyone in the3 comments sees it also.
