An update on the sludged engine or engine flush update after 3 months. Should you flush your engine, should I flush my engine? These are both genuine questions to ask and some months ago I was asking same. This is an update on how this Toyota 1ZZ_FE motor with engine sludge build up has fared since the flush I did with Liqui Moly engine flush plus.

With every oil change. I can't see any drawbacks of getting more old oil and sludge out of and engine.

Thanks for the explanation of why you think the contaminants formed even though oil changes were for the most part on time. keeping the PCV system clean and keeping the oil topped off matter. In the bigger picture. Thanks again for doing this.

Use a borescope to look into the oil drain and oil fill so you don't have to take off the valve cover or oil pan. Can use it to look into the combustion chamber too thru the sparkplug hole.

I have changed my oil consistently in my 2008 IS250 and my mechanic said it wouldn’t hurt to do an engine flush as it would essentially clean up the engine just as you have shown us in your first video regarding this treatment. I have read that a lot of people don’t want to do this because they’re afraid that running such chemicals from the cleaner itself will cause damage to the seals. I guess that would be true if you were too keep the engine on for more than the recommended 15 minutes. Otherwise it’s pretty safe, right? As long as procedures are followed. I don’t think there’s any existing leaks in my car right now, and if there was, I’m sure my mechanic would’ve pointed it out.

I agree. Wouldn't do it for more than the recommended 15mins if it's preventive.

I once used a Valvoline high milage oil on my mk1 mx5, It cleaned the engine so well I used it every service and it kept the engine clean, before that I had used oil flushes and had zero issues!

Hi, try this for engine flush. Remove 1 qt of oil with 1 qt of diesel fuel if the car use 5qt use 4qt of oil and 1 qt of diesel With the engine cold run engine 35 seconds, turn of engine now add diesel fuel run engine 5 minutes to 10 then turn of and drain. Diesel work great you can try Kerosene too

What's the difference between "engine flush plus" and "pro-line engine flush" and is one better than the other? Also do you think a flush will loosen stuck oil rings?
@DIYAutoworksNG
@DIYAutoworksNG 3 ай бұрын
Not totally sure what the difference is between flush plus and the pro-line. That's one I'll call Liqui Moly for. For loosening stuck oil control rings, what I've tried that worked; was putting a good fuel system cleaner in the tank and going hard on the car. Pedal to the metal. That ended my oil consumption. A number of other viewer have reported success with this method too. Check my video on how to free stuck piston rings...

@@DIYAutoworksNGI asked ChatGPT and it said this: Both products are excellent, but the best choice depends on your specific needs: • For Regular Use and Maintenance: Liqui Moly Engine Flush Plus • For Intensive Cleaning and Neglected Engines: Liqui Moly Pro-Line Engine Flush Make sure to follow the instructions on the product label for the best results. Also, consult your vehicle’s manual or a professional mechanic if you have any concerns about using engine flush products.

Some people do think flushes will do then good when it won't. If there's stuff where oil goes that shouldn't be there - sludge, water, shavings - use a flush. Otherwise, don't bother.

I also run a 170,000km driven 1ZZ FE engine. Do you recommend me engine flush? Also, this car was driven on 20w 50 oil. Should I change to 10w 40?
@DIYAutoworksNG
@DIYAutoworksNG 9 ай бұрын
You can try 10w-40 oil first. See if there's oil usage. If negligible, experiment with 5w-30 or 10w-30. If oil usage is significant, go back up in oil weight. I'll hold on flushing. The above recommendation assumes the engine isn't using 20w-50 oil

I just add about 20% palm oil to my engine oil and the sludge is going reduced. Wanna try my weird tips? But never use pure palm oil, you must mix it with real engine oil. Don't forget to check the engine oil regularly and change immediately your engine oil when the engine oil is going black. Don't forget to change oil filter too, because this way can reduce the sludge but be aware to avoid your filter oil not to be clogged.

@@DIYAutoworksNG yes correct, usually needs 3-4 or more oil change cycle to do. But I think this way is the safest way and cheap too.
