​@TheFlytrapGarden I've had my pitchers digest slugs. Only if the slug is too big the acid will rot, and the leaf dies. I have a giant darlingtonia. Slugs can't find the exit because they get disoriented by the sunlight shining through the leafs.

Those purpurea had too much water. It shouldnt come all the way up to the peristrome. Try again with a lower water level? Maybe the lining will be slick like its supposed to be. Like 3/4 inch lower water level.
