I had roughly half a dozen cars overtake whilst I was indicating right. LEDS and slurry.

I prefer the old rotating halogen beacon to be honest. Can be see easily from miles away and all the way around the tractor. each to his own choice of course because he who pays the bill takes the choice. Driving standards, yep, they have plummeted and will continue to do so.

Good old brittax light bars back in the day used to always burn belts and wind up only lighting in one direction 🤣 did look a damn sight nicer though

I’ve been passed by synchronised civics while turning across the lane, they pulled out as one unit passed almost touching bumpers and the first didn’t pull in till the last was clear of me, odd as hell ignorance 🤣

I live in Perthshire and well used to seeing tractors bedecked with lightbars and beacons. It is now becoming more difficult to spot the indicator signals on the tractors so always have to take more care when passing. Van driver was still a nob.

Fun fact: Here in Finland you're not allowed to run with flashers on (or you're not supposed to) when just driving on roads, only when you're actually working on a road you should use them. Idea is that having them on all the time makes people used to them so they don't care about them, while just seeing them now and then when it's ACTUALLY any danger makes people take notice of them more.

With you for gps guidance, helped my neighbour drill some barley a couple of years ago, a New Holland T8 410, with a 12 meter drill, a Root Boot an Aussie made drill, and grain / fertiliser cart. Without the gps would have been a challenge. My previous time drilling was about 30 years ago with a ford 6710 and a MF 30 drill. at Bicton ag college.

I had a car run into the bank of my right rear wheel as I turned right. His insurance company took mine to court to recover costs for the damaged car and they won and the driver wanted to win to get his no claims bonus restored as he had claimed on his to replace his car immediately.Here in Ireland a judge will often favour the injured party even if they are in the wrong if they are deemed to be not able to pay legal fees if they lose.

I drive into London alot, and you'll be amazed how many people come up my left hand side when i'm turning left, and not only dose it flash but there is a "WARNING, THIS VEHICLE IS TURNING LEFT" audible warning but like lemmings i get e-scooters cyclests, motorcyclests and sometimes even cars mounting the pavment and squeezing up my left hand side when i'm trying to turn left. Problem is with tight left turns i have to positon out to the right which dosn't help but i've still got my left signel on.

RTK some job. If you keep to those lines spreading you will have less compaction over time. It all helps. Think I can see that beacon from west Ireland

How come you brits often use quite small slurry tanks? For some reason alot of farms opt for this as far as I can see from yt. Is it to do with the soil being compacted easily? Or the size of the roads? Love the content, cheers from Sweden.
@gregshearer42320 күн бұрын
How what size of tankers are use running in Sweden cause a wouldn’t say a 3000 gallon tankers small
@guseks841320 күн бұрын
@@gregshearer423 It depends really but between 3500 and 4500 would be normal in my area where fields are quite small, and up to around 6000 where there are bigger fields. Some people obviously still run older 2-3000 gallon tankers aswell but it is not that common anymore.
@gregshearer42320 күн бұрын
@@guseks8413 a lot of farms are starting to buy bigger tankers like 3000-3500 but a lot of the smaller farms simply don’t have big enough tractors to pull anything bigger than a 2500 and don’t really need anything bigger
@GeorgeSaunders16 күн бұрын
There's no need for a farm our size to have anything bigger, you wouldn't be able to get it manoeuvred around the traditional buildings 👍
@guseks841316 күн бұрын
@@GeorgeSaunders Thanks for the answer, that makes sense. Come to think of it you probably have the majority of your fields relatively close to the farm yard compared to my area plus a faster tractor. 😉 3000 gallons is plenty then.

Evening sir.. those Twits are everywhere we have had multiple accidents in the past because we follow the highway code and use indicators 😅.. normal answer back is... I thought you were letting me passed.. 🤔😡. Obviously overtaking the following cars wasn't the problem 🙄.. Question on your RTK... Do you use a base station anywhere? Stay safe 🏴
@EliteFarming20 күн бұрын
@GeorgeSaunders I bought one of them from rvl about 6mths ago, the control box isn't synced to the light pattern, you have to see what the light is doing then disconnect and set the box to the light pattern and reconnect. Just thought you might want to know if you didn't already as I had to contact them as to why it wasn't synced. Cheers
@GeorgeSaunders16 күн бұрын
Must have been an issue with yours, mine is synced up 👍
@jefftheaussie222519 күн бұрын
I know exactly what you mean George. What does the indicator really mean? You put it on to tell everyone you intend to turn right and slow down to do so but they think because you are driving a tractor with something big behind you are telling them to overtake. You have to have eyes everywhere looking out for wallys, which is what you were doing.
