Sly Cooper - Early Prototypes and Cut Content

i LOVE how this video is done, most behind the scenes or early versions of some games just make it look so professional and stuff. This feels more humane like it really shows how much effort they put on these games and yet they can see the progress they have done with a smile on their faces.

I love these old development build showcases Sucker Punch has been doing lately. I hope more developers start doing things like this! That really early build from January 2000 looks insane, crazy to think they started on it just a few months after Rocket Robot on Wheels on N64. I wonder if Sony was even going to be the publisher at that point or if it was even being made on a PS2 devkit. Looks like they could have easily had the Dreamcast or something else in mind.

yeah i think sly cooper was originally developed for the dreamcast at first and was meant to be a next gen spinoff of rocket robot on wheels with jojo as the main character in the same way rrow was on the n64 but because sega exited the hardware market during the early stages of development of sly they moved it to the ps2

Pretty sure that the "32 months to ship sly 1" demo is running on a n64 dev kit. That would line up with Sucker Punch's game they made before Sly, Rocket - Robot On Wheels

Aidan rosenberg well you can play the alpha and beta builds of the games but I don’t know if you can play those two levels,but maybe you can play it using a mod though I don’t think it’s been done before

@@Plemmy who know, the only way currently is if someone comes forward with a copy of the level or if someone with some serious level building and coding skills recreates it from the little footage we've seen already. both are possible.
