First off, glad that you liked and responded too my comment. Second yes there is always a team wanting too work on this. I just wish sony would either give the go ahead or at least acknowledge WITH certainty that the series and character lives on. After all the jack and daxter collection sold a bunch as well as crash and spyro so that should be a clear indication that old series aren't dead. Platformers are a still living breathing genre and of sony takes the time too invest it would only bolster their sales. Especially with PS5 on it's way it would do them well to have a great lineup that suits all kinds of different genres. Doing that would help them prevent the drought of games when the ps4 launched. That's just my opinion.

You have a good information on Sly series backrounds. Keep it up 👍. And i agree on you that Sly 4 cartoony aesthetics are great (in my opinion too), because it gave cutscenes more feeling and drama. Examples: like when Carmelita smiled Sly in beginning on game, also when Carmelita glared to him and Sly was sad in return and in the ending when Carmelita found picture in river where Sly kissed her in cheek on the date and she was shocked seriously. I choosed Carmelita for example because her expressions were right on mark in Sly 4 😊

One thing that makes this situation a lot more murkier, is that if and when they include or release the Egypt story arch intended for Sly 4, will it's finished script stay the same or will they change it or rewrite it for future game. If Sly 5 instantly starts from where the 100% ending left off, will it still make sense for Sly 5's story despite being intended to Sly 4. Will it be obviously different from the rest of the game and feel out of place? Or will it still work? They could also make Egypt it's own small game that takes place in between 4 and 5, but I think that's unlikely.

If Sony were to give them the chance to develop Sly 5, I guess they'd re-write Egypt as to fit the length of a full fledged game. The way I see it, Sly 5 picture a VERY long Egypt episode, gameplay moving back and forth between Sly and the gang in the present.

The cut villain could have been a younger version of Clockwork, already beginning his life's goal of destroying the Cooper Family. Come on guys, in most games, well the final ones anyway, it always ends with the Villain who started it all. And they should add in the next story, that Sly having, the knowledge of his ancestors deaths, Struggling with the fact that he can save them, but yet risking his timeline.

@@kamerynhaynes7076 I think a more likely scenario would be Clockwerk leaving the group for love like Connor did and Slytunkhamen feeling a little butthurt decides to go to the wedding and rob his old friend blind, an accident occurs killing the bride and Tunkhamen gets caught red handed in the original timeline, in the new timeline Sly might try to stop Tunkhamen from doing anything that could trigger Clockwerk's decent into blind hate and the 2 fight within rafters during the wedding with the same accident happening at the end of the fight causing history to repeat itself.

wow you just totally described a fan script i wrote for a sequel... what with sly being the one to introduce the thievious raccoonus and teaching slytakamun, as well as sly unintentially releasing or awakening clockwerk, i have a feeling clockwerk was an egyptian pharaoh or a god at one point until sly comes along and puts and end to him, then penelope comes back and rebuilds him to what we know. also i always thought that sir raleigh would have been more suited for the black knight armour.

I actually thought about this before the idea of Sly giving his ancestor the idea of the theivius raccanous makes alot of sense and could be interesting if done right but one of the reasons why I didn't like theives in Time was the pacing and how it felt rushed espicallly the ending Sly derserves a better ending to his chapter He has great games under his banner and if a Sly 5 is ever made in the future I hope more time and focus is put into it.🤔🤔🤔🤔ps I do like Sly design in Sly 4 and the soundtrack

Personaly i was thinking that Sly getting thrown back in time with all that 'future' thechnology is what allowed Clockwreck to become the immortal mechanical monster we all know. Think about it even assuming he was ahead of the rest of the world we are talking about 3000 BC! His metal body should have been recent as in centuries plus not even getting a mention from all those Coopers seemed odd.

The way I see it, is Sanzaru wanted to do what Insomniac games did with Ratchet and Clank. Make their own future trilogy. The way Sly disappears, is similar to how Clank disappeared when the Zoni kidnapped him. Now yes, they had plans for the DLC. But I'm convinced they wanted to do more with the series. The issue comes with how they went about it. They should've moved the Egyptian level to the third chapter of the game. Allowing the story to remain complete. And not leave us on such a cliffhanger. Sanzaru were too confidant this game would do well in sales, forgetting that Sly hasn't been seen since 2005. Sly 4 was meant to be a revival attempt. There shouldn't have been a cliffhanger at all. Sony isn't innocent either though. Cause I've heard supposedly that they're aware of the high demand of Sly 5. Which they have to know there's a high demand. Making me wonder why it's taking them so long to greenlight a Sly 5. A Sly 5 would make tons of money. I know it would. Yet, Sony seems to not be doing anything with Sly. The show I've heard is in development hell. Leaving me convinced it won't happen. I don't get why Sony's not bothering with Sly. Especially since Crash, Spyro, and Sir Daniel have made their comeback's to high success. So you'd think that would convince Sony to allow Sly to make the comeback he deserves.

The fact Sanzaru is still thinking about Sly, along with the tweets of free sly from Egypt, still give me hope we'll get a conclusion. Hopefully this new decade is the time Sly finally comes back.

Cause Sanzaru did make lots of mistakes with Sly 4. Which includes a very certain plot twist. Hopefully a new developer can fix what Sanzaru left behind.

just to clarify, the egypt episode was not planned to be a DLC to begin with. It was supposed to be the very first part of sly cooper 4, but sony scrapped it and then let the sales decide if it would ever see the light of the day as a DLC. as turned out the sales were poor, they gave up on releasing it in the dlc. This chapter should also conclude the story, and not leave this hanging like the game ended. Thus, making sc5 more of a problem, because instead of finishing it in 1 chapter, you've to make a whole game about it. A whole journey that wasn't suppose to happen.

Isn't that what I said in the video? Egypt was originally ep 1 yes. Sly 5 can still be made with the intent to rescue Sly. Imagine a lengthy Egypt episode with flashbacks and back and forths between Sly and the gang in the present. Mid-game Sly is rescued and they deal with a new threat in the present.

#FreeSlyFromEgypt I was thinking that as a potential story taking place between Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and a potential new episode or new game in the form of 10-episode web series entitled Sly & Carmelita: A Tail of Two Star-Crossers, with each episode being 45 minutes long to go more in depth. In one plot, Carmelita is still coping with the fact that Sly is not around and obviously busting criminals at a record pace. One fugitive she's attempting to bust is Penelope, Bentley's ex-girlfriend who betrayed his trust, who was hiding in Dublin, Republic of 🇮🇪. The femme fatale would then insult our favorite vixen by rudely exclaiming that she could never truly 💘 a "stupid code-of-honor idiot". Carmelita then strikes Penelope with her razor sharp 💅 and her shock pistol as a form of retaliation against her. Several Irish officers arrive and arrest Penelope and place her in a higher security cell that she wouldn't be able to escape from. Inspector Barkley just happened to be in Dublin for a charity golf tournament, and after learning what happened, he promptly yelled at her and suspended her indefinitely but strangely allowed her to keep her badge attached to her choker. Sometime later, she recruits The Guru and the Panda King to assist her, Bentley, Murray, and Dimitri to find Sly. Meanwhile, Sly himself, decked out in Ancient Egyptian attire, has been imprisoned by Cleopatra (looking EXACTLY like Carmelita), mistakes him for Slytunkhamen Cooper (who I would portray as an older raccoon), and is currently in a relationship with Cyrille Le Paradox's Egyptian ancestor. In addition, Sly meets up with Slytunkhamen II, the Thievius Raccoonus creator's son. That's all I have. Edit: I was also thinking that Slytunkhamen II would be working as a 💂 for Le Paradox's Egyptian ancestor, who I would call Kaseem Le Paradox, and Cleopatra, with him doing nefarious deeds like hoarding gold he has stolen from citizens in secret, though all three Coopers know what he's up to!!

I really want Sly Cooper Rebooted after Sly out of Egypt. But, I found out that Ghostbot was the company that worked with Sanzaru on Sly 4. I want Sly 5 to be in Sly 4's Animation Style. It's a bad idea for Sony and Sanzaru to release the DLC on the PS3 because the PS3 is gone now. So maybe we can get Sly 4 Remastered featuring the DLC on the Sly Cooper Remake Collection on the PS5 where Sly 1, 2, & 3 are remastered into the Animation Style of Thieves in Time. Sly 5 should come out sometime in 2020 or 2021, The Sly Cooper Remake Collection with Sly 4 Remastered should come out in 2022 for Sly's 20th Anniversary, and The Sly Cooper TV Show should come out in 2023 for the 10th Anniversary of Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. Oh and that reminds me, for the Sly Cooper Remake Collection with Sly 4 Remaster on the PS5, Sony, Sanzaru, and Ghostbot should work on the Open-World and 2D Animation Cutscenes while remaking Sly 1, 2, & 3 in The Animation Style of Sly Cooper Thieves in Time because I like Thieves in Time Design of Sly including the art. To have Slytunkhamen episode in Sly 4, we should've have Japan, The Old West, Egypt, Prehistoric, Medieval, and Arabia Episodes altogether so Sly can meet Rioichi, Tennessee, Slytunkhamen, Sir Galleth, Salim, and Cave Man a.k.a Bob so Sly should've been tricked by Le Paradox in the finale and we would've waited almost 7 Years of Sly Updates. To me, I enjoyed playing Thieves in Time but it just needed some more improvements. As I said, we should add the Spider-Man PS4 Combat Formula in Future Sly Games as improvements

I hope Sony has something up there sleeve. I'm pretty sure they are planning a release on ps5, because why would announce a ps4 remake of the games if the ps5 has all new raytracing and all-new graphics infrastructure why would they not wait it out for the ps5 to come. This is probably my most favorite PlayStation franchise, so I really hope they are doing something for all of they're fans. I don't know if my theory is true or not, but I hope from all of my heart that Sony is planning something. The fact that Sony made Sanzuru abandon the DLC on Sly 4 has created a bunch of disbelieving in Sony as a company. Well none of us is ever gonna find out the truth of all this, but hopefully, we will see something soon. As because of Sanzaru being acquired by Oculus, I'm sure that Sony will assign another studio on it like Suckerpunch. Whatever happens, I will have faith in Sly and I hope you will too.

Isn't it possible that the developers were held back by fear of an unsatisfying conclusion? As far back as I can remember, most of the major titles by PlayStation do not always have conclusive or satisfying endings. Is it possible that the episode was written but it did not have a clear ending? As beloved as this franchise is, the last thing the developers want to do is give a conclusion that does not please the fans of the series. The prehistoric episode in Sly Cooper 4 completely unnecessary and was more of a filler episode with many many games in the episode really. I also have a theory that Penelope is sending the postcards as a way to apologize to Bentley but also play a key role in locating Sly in the past. Heck, I even think, leader would be the one to be supportive of her cooperation in finding Sly as well.

I got a feeling IG started working on a new R&C game lowkey early stages during the development of Spider-Man PS4 IF anything at all. 4 years doesn't mean they worked on R&C for that long, it's just they were busy with other projects and if I recall correctly, IG said it's going to take a while, this was back in late 2017. A while means either A: Longer development or B: Busy with other projects

Clockwork should be the main villian, we all know from sly 1 that he was made in the egypt times, so what if sly and his ancestor faced him, then sly’s ancestor gets killed and things starts to get wierd, then bentley comes on with a method to contact sly, bentley tells sly that the thievius raccoonus stars to fade away. Then sly has no other choice to write it himself, that would’ve been the stable time loop that sly started the book and kept it a secret that he did

But also with the ratchet and clank series, I know Sony didn’t own insomniac games during the ps3 era, but just so if they hypothetically did, what I really would’ve liked to see from the series is after a crack in time, not bother doing the spinoff games all 4 one and q force, and put more time and effort into a proper 4th future game, aka into the nexus. Idk about y’all but I prefer the old trilogy art style over the sly 4 art style. The art style is damn near iconic to the series (no other video game uses that style) It really helped bring together the direction of the series as well as the feel of what sly cooper was. (Sleek, sharp, bold, cartoony but had somewhat serious undertones) you get all that just from looking at the art style. Seeing that in motion would be beautiful, like bringing the sly cooper comics to life ... anything less than that would be a let down honestly ... and after sly 4 I’ve been let down enough 😔. What i would really like to see is for Sucker Punch to scratch sly 4, and either move on from the time travel or make their own take on sly 4. Oh, and with new character models that look like the comic book version I would love to see what that looks like in-game.

The reason why I still think Clockwerk could be Penelope is because of the "Briner Noggin" thing and her other personas it wouldn't surprise me she would make a giant robotic owl to try and terrorize the coopers. Could also explain why Clockwerk is in the ice age...as a robot unless he has a time machine as well.
