Congratulations on getting the refrigerator!! I love hard ice cream too. You should notify the company of the damage. Also most refrigerators can have the door switched to open in the other direction; easier to access from inside the kitchen. You'll really appreciate the fridge in the warm weather. You just answered that the door is reverseable.

I always chuckle when I hear people say they want their ice cream hard. I'm the opposite, I always take mine and microwave it for about 12 seconds to soften it up. Congrats on the new fridge, I couldn't imagine what a pain it was living without one.

everyone has their favorite way to store and serve ice cream. good luck with your new refrigerator. when I was in the Navy until the day I retired after 38 years overseeing the staff 118 personnel in Nimitz Class aircraft carriers and to provision the galleys to serve 5000 meals daily. it was a difficult job of transferring tons of food a day from the various stores both frozen and refrigerated as well as dry stores

Have you ever thought of building a cooler that hangs off of the side of the house for the winter. You could put an insulated door inside. That way you could use it in the winter to save on propane.

Oh, a refrigerator! I forgot about propane refrigerators even though I used to have a 3-way frig in the camper. Three way: ac/dc and propane. Enjoy it.

I have two propane fridges and because they produce carbon monoxide by burning propane to cool the fridge I vented mine to the outside via an upward sloped pipe over the vent pipe at the rear that vents outside. Locating on an outside wall makes the much simpler. New propane fridges in Canada only allow exterior vent fridges only.

I was about to suggest the same thing. I was more worried about the moisture the burning propane would give off, and the problems that it would cause, that I forgot about the carbon monoxide.

It shouldn’t be an issue. The wood stove keeps the house a little too dry. We have a kettle we keep on top to produce moisture. Hoping they offset each other

I hadn't realized you haven't installed the flooring yet. That's a good project when it's too snowy to work outside. Cool refrigerator, that really expands what you can shop for now. Ice cream is important. 👍🏻

It's still much cheaper than a RV fridge. I love that it can use propane OR ac. It only takes about $20/month in propane. Once we get our solar set up in place we can use it off that and have no cost to operate and still have propane as a backup. And its built like a tank. I'm very happy with the fit and finish, nothing looks or feels chintzy.
