Five years later...thanks for the directions on how to change from C to F. The included instructions were perhaps the worst I've encountered so that I didn't even know that the unit had a folding stand. Helpful vids like yours is why I still enjoy KZbin.

the protection on mine was giving the effect of very bad ghosting of the display - very reminiscent of electronics gone wrong which I had once years ago on something - whatever I did the blurring and jumbling of the display remained - watching this it then turned out what you called a protection might be present - when I removed it, hey presto, a clear display! You saved the day!

Thank you so much for your help. I would have never have found the C/F button under the stand in the back of the unit. Temperature is good within 1 degree but the humidifier is off about 5-6% higher than it actually is. I live in Arizona so it is dry. If I need humidity I will have to buy a humidifier. Thank you

The date is Sept 2019, I just bought this exact same device. I got it at the Dollar Store for $4, and it went by a different brand name, but it is exactly the same. Anyways, it seems to work, so yeah for that. I wished it was larger, 12" would have been what I preferred, but it seems okay for $4.

You are exactly right. I have found throughout my reviews that all these items are manufactured in China. So they are made in certain factories then stamped with multiple different names model numbers colors etc. but exactly same product.

Hi !! I need some help regarding this item that you posted about...here, The HTC-1 LDC digital thermometer & hydrometer. I did a salt test for the humidity and after 12 hrs it read 69% so it is off by -6...is it safe to say that the temp is prob off by that much as well? I did a ice bath test for the temp and after 30 mins it got to about 37 degrees. Do I have it sit longer? I just need the most accurate read and need advice. Thank you!! 😊

Meghan, no.. they write in the instruction it is 5% margin of error for humidity and 1% for temp. I just bought mine and seems it is fine but I have it for a week, is yours still functioning after a year from your message? I did a test by taking at night and placing in not hot nor cold surface, and the temp was very close 33 c to what is in my city that night, and humidity was 3% off... I guess I have to repeat the test to get more consistent result. Please tell me is humidity function is working after a year of your purchase? thanks

Not sure if you still help with this. There are two clock displays (don't ask me why). You will have to press the mode button to show the second clock. Press "adjust" now you see month/date. Press AND hold the "mode" button until the display turns back into clock display, the minute will flash, press mode again, now the hour is flashing, press mode one more time, the 12 he will appear, if you want 24 hr, press adjust. Then press mode to set the month and date. Continue to press mode until all displays stop flashing and the display time is correct.

The alarm is controlled by the "adjust" button. Keeping pressing it will turn the alarm on and off. If you accidentally turned on the alarm but can't seem to turn it off, take the battery out, it well reset the alarm to off. But of course that way you will have to reset the clock.

he explained Brenda on the back of the clcok there is a black little button you push.. but for that you have to open the little stand at the bottom by pulling the little 2 legs once you open them you see the little black button. Though It is nice to practice learning c.. I am from c culture but I learn about F, though few countries use F yet I check it once in awhile.. in your case you may need it more as many countries uses c. hope that help.

I am testing mine right now.. temperature is almost 98% accurate, I have a regular thermometer to compare, I do not have hygrometer(for humidity) but I will perform the wet bulb test to see if it is accurate, great day

For those who want to turn off the alarm, you can turn it on and off by pressing the "adjust" button. Press once, the word "alarm" will appear next to the volume symbol, press the "adjust" button again both the word "alarm" and the volume symbol will disappear, this means the alarm has been turned off. If you still have problems, take out the battery, that will reset the alarm to off.
