In part 2 of our narrow boundary border makeover, we describe the plants which have been chosen for the site and then get on with setting them out and planting them.
With the border completed, it now has interest for a longer period of time, from spring right through to the autumn.

Greetings from Kentucky. I love the choice of plants for your new bed. I planted 'one" Queen Charlotte" Anemone several years ago. Now I have about 12 of those plants in my shade garden. The pink blooms look nice when most else has finished blooming for the Summer. Enjoyed the video, James

Thanks James, I really enjoyed deciding which plants to use and then getting them all planted. Anemones are very quick to spread so we'll have to divide these when they get too big. The flowers are just adorable, like you say, when other plants have ran out of steam, these are just beginning.Take care James and thanks for watching 😀

My Astibile has just started feathering/blooming but not as tall as last year. Saying that, I can't remember which month I bought it 🤔Looking fresher and tidier now with a nice mix. Looking forward to it blooming on the updates. Thank you 😃👍

We've not grown astilbe for years so it's great to have them again. The small astrantias are getting nibbled by slugs but I'm moving them on when I see them! Thanks for watching Richy 😀 👍

Great choice of plants there and all easy to maintain. I particularly like the Astrantias as they flower for ages. I can't remember if I've told you about a garden centre when you're travelling on the A55 to Rhyl and Towyn and fancy a visit or a change of scene. It's called Jackson's. Postcode LL186EB and is on the way to Prestatyn. When you arrive it looks like an old shack but inside there's a huge gift section plus a lovely restaurant where they do delicious home made cakes. Outside is their plant section and although it's not a massive garden centre I think it's worth a visit if you're in that area. I've always had huge success with their plants. What's the name of the garden centre that you like in/near Rhyl please? I'm always looking for new places. Have a lovely week. Weather is meant to be getting better. About time too! xxx

Thanks Wendy, it was great work on a patch of ground that had been overlooked as a potential border and introduce different plants. We know Jacksons in Rhyl well and have enjoyed the odd tea and cake there! The one we go to a lot is North Wales garden world LL18 5TU. They also have a great café and an ice cream parlour. The perennials section is small but they have shrubs and bedding. I think we've been to every plant centre in North Wales by now! The weather is lovely at the moment and they say it will last into next week. We may have to get the hose pipe out of the shed for the first time this year. Take care xxxx

@@MadAboutGardening I'll have to pay a visit to garden world. I was at Jackson's today and they've really extended their plant section. I was impressed that their bedding plants were 50p cheaper than everywhere around my neck of the woods. Worth remembering for next year as the amount I buy would be quite a saving. I didn't need any today but did came away with four Heucheras, two Penstemons and another New Dawn rose. I'm supposed to be on a no buy! I wanted a Weigela Wine and Roses but they didn't have one. The man I asked pronounced it Why Ghee La which I'd not heard of before. Off to make a coffee now to have with a piece of cake that I brought home from there. I really do love their homemade cakes! Take care. xxx

@wendybartlett6717 It's worth a visit Wendy, we go on almost every visit. That's a real saving when you are buying lots of plants and helps towards buying others that you might see. We have a video on tonight showing a heucherella that we rescued and made lots of new plants from. We love the leaves of these types of plants. It's had to resist buying plants when you see something that takes your fancy. There's worse things to spend your money on than plants. I've not heard that pronunciation before of weigela, maybe it's a Welsh thing. Hope you enjoyed your cake. Take care and have a great weekend in the lovely weather. Xxxx

Ive got 4 pink Japanese anenome and they are very big this year ..want to remove one so its not overtaking my perenial border ..ive split them in previous years and dont need any more in my small garden .

You're right, Wendy. They can grow quite quickly and can easily take over if you don't split them. We are anticipating this with these ones but we'll pass divisions on to family when they get too large for the space. We've also got another one, 'Delf Swan' and that's less invasive. Thanks for watching.
