I left on time, I dont see this company as a whole future looking. Yes it has confirmed pension from day one but no innovation, relying on 80 years old processing system, its more about who you know than what you know scenario, higher up management having romantic relationships their employees, I can go on in this but I think its time for Canada Post to accept the reality and follow its fate. Note: UK's postal service is privatized, Canada Post started from Royal Mail. So is Germany, Spain and Portugal.

There is an easy way to stop this "hostage" situation. I HAVE A VERY SIMPLE SOLUTION FOR THE EXISTING STRIKE AND ALL FUTURE STRIKES FROM THIS UNION .....BECAUSE THESE STRIKES WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN UNTIL CANADA POST IS SHUT DOWN IN ITS' ENTIRETY. The "solution" is to make it ILLEGAL for this union to strike in FOUR SPECIFIC MONTHS of the year......OCTOBER, NOVEMBER, DECEMBER, AND JANUARY. This union can strike for any and ALL the other months of the year. We ALL know why this strike happens at this time of year. It is to HURT ALL THE CUSTOMERS. There IS NO OTHER REASON. So simply make it illegal to strike during this period. If there is any resistance to this solution, then IMMEDIATELY proceed to PRIVATIZE the entire system with no federal or provincial subsidies ever to be allowed. The "mail system" can remain in place and continue to be used. This would force the entire system to pursue efficiencies throughout. The system should also eliminate/sell off, most ALL the thousands of vehicles and go back to the neighbourhood boxes that carriers used decades ago, to pick up from. Carriers can use the transit system for free like they used to, OR, they can use their own vehicles to get to these centralized area boxes. Carriers would NOT have to drive in to the dozens of postal yards to get to their trucks and then drive out to the thousands of customer routes.....only to drive back to these yards to get their personal vehicles. Time to get smart ......and get rid of the union and the workers who think they can do anything they want, whenever they want. These workers work FOR the company. The company does NOT work FOR the workers. If the workers don't like the work or the pay, then they should leave and get a different job ...or get an education. .

How is this even acceptable?! In a 1st world, g7 country? A whole month with no business revenue due to the Canada Post strike? This is outrageous! Small businesses are already struggling, and now we're left without any way to send or receive packages. It's not just an inconvenience-it's devastating! They need to get their act together and resolve this immediately, or else they’ll lose even more trust from the public. Unbelievable!

Canada Post should just go bankrupt and most workers should be laid off and rehired as private contractors. These contractors can bid on these Canada Post routes with performance bonuses and rural routes get a premium. I can guarantee that Canada Post would be a way more efficient organization with lower rates for consumers. These Canada Post workers would also get a taste of what it's like running a business in Canada...

Canada Post for as long as I can remember has bankrupted small online businesses in RURAL Canada, not including tiny letter mail, how can you compete with such high shipping here, highest in the world, unless you live bye a Stallion or Chit Chat, you can't compete as a online seller, shipping through Canada Post is outrageous, US is thriving from online sellers through Ebay, Canada could be generating so much income through online sales if the Canada Post shipping wasn't so ridiculous to ship a tee shirt or a pair of jeans, there greed is killing Canadian small businesses. Canadians could be making billions off online businesses, selling new and pre owned goods here across Canada, but instead it all goes into the landfills, people are moving back to the cities causing rent and inflation to go up, it's a dirty sham what Canada Post is doing to this countries economy. Trillions could be generated in taxable income because the future is online sales. Sorry for the rant. And Canada Post is raising there price by 25% in January. And no wonder the Canadian dollar is sitting so low.

So even doing local deliveries I'm unable to fulfill orders because I don't have the items to even make the stuff I sell. The membership is saying that this issue was not tabled to the union members before the vote to strike. They won't step in and end the strike because that would rupture the relationship between the Liberals and the NDP that is keeping the Liberals in power. The Liberal government is once again putting their own political interests in front of Canadians. This strike is a classic example of a situation that requires government intervention to force binding arbitration. Both sides are very far apart and there isn't a resolution in sight.

This is heartbreaking. I am a Canada Employee represented by the Marxist Leninist CUPW. I have always been very ashamed of this union. They are so greedy and seem to hate business and the bite the hand that feeds them often. Their dues are outrageous - 95 dollars a month so they can engage in communist/ leftist agendas. I am leaving - going to cash our pension and start a business. The good thing is when this gets resolved somewhat - there shouldn’t be a disruption for at least 4 years.
