Do you think the 20-40 or 28-75 g2 is sharper?

To be honest I wouldn’t know since I don’t have the 28-75 g2 to compare but they’re probably similar due to them being about the same thread size and such! It really depends what you’d need the lens for that matters most.

Great review as always! But just to confirm, you would lean towards this over the 17-28 Tamron 2.8 or any alternative 2.8 wide zoom? Deciding between getting a 35-150 to pair with the 20-40 or going for the Tamron zoom trinity instead for the extra reach at low and high end.

Yea I prefer the 20-40 over the 17-28! That’s why I sold my 17-28 a while back and have been using the 20-40! I’ve also picked up the 20-70 Sony f4 which I brought right now for Europe and it’s been pretty great! The f4 didn’t bother me honestly and love the range to pair with my 35-150!

​@@EasyTigerCreative awesome, thanks! Haven't considered the 20-70, normally I try to invest in a 2.8 just so I don't end up feeling like I need to upgrade. I think the 20-40 fits the kit I have in mind but definitely appreciate the feedback!

My no.1 lens. On zv-e1 in full hd mode it can be used in aps-c mode. ClearImageZoom in 4k.

I have the 28-75 with my A7cii but I’ve been wanting this lens instead because I want that compact feeling and I rarely go past 50mm on my tameron. Looks like I’m trading in 😅

I was really wanting the Sigma 18-50mm 2.8, but it looks like it doesn't have image stabilization. I'd like a smoother process, so I could see this lens as a pretty good solution long-term. I like how easy it'll be traveling with this specific lens!

Is the sigma 18-50 2.8 apsc? Because I don’t recall that one for full frame haha but yea this lens is perfect for tracking and overall use. Currently having to use it on my travels right now as I create.

I use the Tamron 20-40 F2.8 with my Sony ZV-E1 and really like it. I am trying to look for a telephoto zoom lens that I could use for some handheld videos. I was looking at the Tamron 35-150 F2.0-2.8 and Tamron 70-180 F2.8 G2, but I saw that native Sony lenses have better stabilization. Any lens recommendations?

The new Tamron 70-180g2 has vibration compensation so that could help out a lot for pairing it with the zv-e1!

I would already like to have a 13 -33/2.8 (19-50 mm in full frame) for my Fuji XE3, this would be my lens for 90% of the occasions, accompanied by my 35/1.4 for portraits. Greetings.

That would be awesome honestly! I’d love a compact zoom like that! I know Tamron has a 17-70mm f2.8 but from what I’ve seen looks a little big but not sure.

18-40mm 2.8 would’ve been great. Maybe even 18-45mm 2.8. Does your 20-40mm lose focus when crash zooming? Mine does. Does the 17-50mm lose focus when crashing zooming in video?

That would’ve been good too! And I haven’t personally noticed any of that before honestly on either lens!

The lens isn't par-focal so it will lose focus until the autofocus refocuses on the subject/area again. With mine i usually notice it around 30mm to 40mm only. Also 18-45...heck yes

I wish sony would make a 16-50mm for full frame, just bought the a7cii ( my own fault for not doing enough research) but I want one zoom lens, hate switching lenses ( and also can't afford a second one) looking for a 16-40mm 16-50mm but nothing exists.

Yeah I was looking at the 17-50 but at f4, idk,, wish I went for the a6700 and sacrificed a bit of image quality.
