Galaxy sized thanks for featuring Fragmented City as well! I'm always hesitant to actually call it an immersive sim, but I admit that parts of the design philosophy was intentionally used to "fix" stuff I personally don't like about adventure games. Not sure if an immersive sim admittedly focusing entirely on pacifistic gameplay has ever been done, I think I might be in uncharted territories with the project - which is always a nightmare to market, so huge thanks for spreading the word!

Fragmented City was awesome! Especially the soundtrack. The exploration definitely gave me strong imsim vibes, even if it doesn't have box stacking 😃😁. Looking forward to the full game!

(I should tune it a bit down in the demo not to give too much a wrong impression).

If you want old fashion deep cRPGs, you have Larian, of course, but you also have great party based, isometric cRPGs like Stellar Tactics and Caves of Lore, to name just two!

I've been super excited for Monomyth for a long time because it looks exactly like what I wanted Ultima Underworld and Arx Fatalis to be. I respect the hell out of those games and they do a lot of cool things but good lord are they dated. I was also a backer for both Sorceress and Corpus Edax and its always glad to see those games get covered. The latter looks like if someone decided to take Escape from Butcher Bay, changed it to be entirely melee focused, and made it a full blown ImSim so putting my money down was a no-brainer. I'm also really excited to hear that Ad Infernum has a sanity mechanic because I loved the one in Eternal Darkness and I think its criminal that there aren't more horror games that try to fuck directly with the player. Despite being deep, DEEP into ImSim twitter/reddit/KZbin, you guys still managed to find games I didn't know about so thanks for putting more games on my radar!

Found out funny immersive sim. Neverlooted Dungeon - it's a physics-based dungeon crawler where you need to survive some enemies and deadly traps. It's only still short demo with only one level, but it promising to be really fun cause you can use all you creativity to survive traps. So now I waiting for full release.

Some nice wares on display. Played a few of these over Next Fest. I thought Monomyth took itself so seriously that it failed to be any fun, whereas Neverlooted Dungeon was a hoot almost immediately. Yeah, well, that's just like my opinion man. Also to the commentator who doesn't like the term immersive sim, it could be argued that all labels are over simplifications but they simply exist to help people find similar titles to the ones they enjoy. Or in this case, videos one can choose to watch or ignore.

These games look cool, but I feel like in some cases they would benefit from less realistic/detailed graphics. Maliguard looks especially ugly, which is a shame, since the rest of the game seems promising.

Okay, there are still imsims. But are they any good? This list didn't look convincing. One man dev teams are just too small to ever make a quality product. I think a game should be made by a small but tight and passionate team of around 4-10 people.

"Immersive Sim" is a stupid name for a genre. All games are simulations, and immersion is something all games strive for. It tells you NOTHING about the gameplay. It is confusing. It is clunky. It's not cool. It doesnt sound cool. Imagine calling yourself an Immersive Sim Fan. Immersive Sims will die because the name of this genre will kill it. You are lowliest form of gamer. You use the term Immersive Sim.
