That was a nice bass. I like your method for getting hooks out that were swallowed deep. 👍🇨🇦

Thanks very much. Ya its a great technique to have but just always have to be careful not to damage the gills

Amazing way to unhook that flounder, you must be a surgeon by day with that impressive technique.
@IrishAnglingAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Haha thanks very much. Its just one of those skills someone has to show you. It really is a great way of unhooking all flats. You just have to be sure you are above or below all the gill rakers.

Just came across your video, the advice you gave about unhooking the flat fish was very interesting, I have struggled in the past trying not to hurt them also the use of a piece of plastic tube for baiting was great ,thank you John Gorman.
@IrishAnglingAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Great to hear you learned something from it. Its definitely the easiest way but always be aware not to damage the frills in the gills.

Cant wait to get back out fishing once this outbreak has blow over. and i will be trying the disgorging tip with out a doubt struggled with so many flat fish in the past. Cant wait to get back to west coast I think my first trip that we have planed is on the east coast around Wexford hopefully pick up a few bass there. And hopefully its not to late in the year to maybe hit into a smoothie or 2.
@IrishAnglingAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Just remember if your unhooking a flattie this way to go make sure your not between the gills fronds try go above or below depending on how the hook is. Once you get the hang of it's a joy. Ah hopefully we will be well out of all this by then. Smoothies should be showing up a little later than last year. Water temp is 2 degrees lower then last year so hopefully it will keep them out a little longer until we are all able to get out haha

@@TheEastbourneFisherman At the moment is not great but it is that time of year when the summer species havent come in and the winter species have moved off. so it will be quiet until mid april really. Saying that the summer I have really high hopes for as last year has been my best year so far with multiple PB's which i hope to break again. Definitely worth a trip over once all thi s Covid-19 stuff is over with.
