Saddest thing about this is the fact that non of western-world countries helped Dominica right after hurracaine hit The Island as everyones eyes focused on Puerto Rico. First help came from Venezuela, Cuba, Palestine and Jamaica and you know, they ain't super-powers. Dominica recived JUST 19.7mln US Dollars while damage was 1.37 BILLION US Dollars which is 226% of nations' GDP ... Everything was completly destroyed; 98% of the islands buildings were damaged. Infrastructure was totally riuned, every powerline pole was downed, fresh water supply and sawage systems were destroyed, roads flodded, bridges collapsed, some places even vanished due to landslides, there was no power, cellular network, internet, water, nothing for a weeks! Very sad... I just came back from my holidays in Guadeloupe from where I cought a ferry to visit Dominica for couple days. The nation is one of the kind. I honestly can tell you that I never met that lovely people never in the World before, their kindness, politeness, hapiness was incredible! And it's devastating that this disaster could happen to them. Island does well now despite a very litte help from outside. People are marvelous. Country economy is rather stable but the nation income is based in almost 100% on Tourism so, please, whenever you go to Guadeloupe, St. Lucia, Barbados, or anywhere nearby, please come visit Dominica. Breathtaking views, awesome food and great Dominica's vibe is definately worh every penny, and every dollar spent on Island help them growing. Dominica is and dimond. But can be a brilliant! God Bless Dominica and its great people. I wish you all the best and I very hope I'll have a chance to visit the Island again. Love you.

Riiight….”put his people first” by stuffing his own pockets with millions of aid money and only helping his political supporters build back their houses. He’s not a good person by any stretch of the imagination.

Thank God we were resilient and were able to build back in quick time. These harrowing images, however, are a reminder of how quickly life can change. I went through this Cat 5 hurricane, and the aftermath. I don't want to experience this in my lifetime ever again.

This breaks my heart to see people go through so much pain. But we can rest assured that if we feel this way, the almighty feels even worse. He can & will make the necessary changes so that we all can benefit from very soon, sooner than we think (Isa 65:20-25).

build good homes and you dont have all this rumble. they choose not too. and now the storm broke it? who's fault is it?
@cvb4384
@cvb4384 4 жыл бұрын
Are you for real? These homes are built way stronger than American homes. If this storm had to pass over entire US over 90% percent of homes will be flat down as they are built out out of wood and sheetrock. Over 90% of this island homes are built out of cinder blocks and fully plastered with mortar. As you can see the rubble is from mainly roofs and trees brought down by rivers. So please educate yourself before making such statement.
